Anyway you need the RD1-PMC4 model (i'm assuming that the Abit AN8 has a 4 Mbit PLCC 3.3 volt Flash Rom, like the Dfi Nf4 and my old Abit NF7-S).

well the good news is there is no issue with my board or nf4 chip. the bad news is my windows install got borked by a very stubborn raptor that refused to die a quiet death.

not sure i got them new/reviewed before they were actually released to the public couple years ago and one had an accident with a heatsink snapping off the sata connection with sata cable attached to it( i dropped it :( ) prolly not i here the 74 gig raptors have better firmware anyway or maybe its time to try out sata II

Just out of curiosity is everyone elses post code reporter mounted upside down in theyre an8 sli board or did i just receive a um special upside down one. Lol never noticed it before cuz my waterpump was blocking its view and i use a port 80 diagnostic card in all my comps anyway.

I´m running 2x Sata2 in raid 0 with no problems :)

i think you'll be just right but close....worst case scenrio...another sound card place in a 32-bit slot

Hmm.. not much of an audiophile so that will be a bit of an overkill ;) I mailed Thermalright but they havent answered. Since they list the old AN8 as compatible I think it should be ok, but the old didn't have the sound addin card...

yes they did have the add in cards. My friend has an AN8 regular and it has the add in card. But he's using the xp90 and plenty clearance left.

Hey, you're right.. I was obviously blind ;) When I compare screen shots of the old AN8 and AN8 rev2/ultra it actually seems like there is more space on the new boards..

New review here guys.....Hexus guys like the board but i don't understand for the life of me why you wouldn't test 3.55vdimm option because even they acknowledge it is one of the main features and geared squarely at enthusiasts....anyway the review was good

If it's anything like the beta 16.b00 I tried then it won't be worth $hit. The beta 16 didn't fix the broken sli issue that bios 15 had so therefore it is USELESS!!!!!!!

ok Abit is really over doing it with so many boards based on the same chipsets with similar features. Instead of spending so much money on producing so much redundancy, they should spend more time on the bios.

I totaly agree with you on that one... the Bios is the key to selling enthusiast motherboards like the Fatal1ty or the Ultra versions...

Just to confirm....the AN8 SLI Non-fatyal1ty, has the 3.55Vdimm option too...right?
