yup, i pre-ordered at sparco too, but then i cancelled it. I just got an email from them saying they expect to have it in stock on the 18th, but that's not guaranteed. they also say to check back on the 19th to see if they have them in. looks like every online vendor will have it in stock one way or another on the 18th. I don't know if monarch will beat everyone again this time and have it first. it doesn't seems like it as i got no concrete answer from monarch's purchasing dept. i probably won't have a venice until after next week :(. i hope all my components still work, since they've been collecting dusts waiting on venice.

Well if they are in transit how could they guarantee it? I figure at least I'm in the order line somewhere and I did not cancel as the numbers look 'in-line'

IMO, You can almost rest assured that the Egg, ZZF and Monarch are gonna jack(us) the first few shipments until the 'enthusiasts' orders have been filled.

I think he's right, sadly. If you froogle "ada3700daa5bn" you get one result, whereas ada3700daa4bn returns nothing but ada3700bnbox and ada3500bnbox both return about 8 results. Also, "ada4000daa4bn" returns nothing on froogle, but "ada4000daa5bn" lists about 8 results and "ada4000bnbox" returns around 8 as well. :(

I was really hoping for a 3500+ 1MB. At least the 3700+ isn't too far away in price.

aight, i got some interesting infos here. our fav. etailer just told me that the apr. 18th date is false because they said they have not heard anything from amd about the 18th. they said that these etailers are trying to drum up pre-orders by stating 18th as the date of availibility. however, he turns around and said that they will have a pre-order this coming weekend. so if his claim that the 18th of apr. is false, then why are they doing pre-order like the rest of the etailers. are they trying to drum up orders too? hrmm, em wonder.

Hmmm, if this is true then you guys in UK are lucky. I just got an email alert and you can see below. But when I checked the website, it stock count is 0. Maybe the merchandize are in and but they are just holding on to them until the 18th. You guys can probably call them and hassle them to see if you get them to sell one. Worth the try. :toast:

wow, websites for pre-order are popping up everywhere. But none of the big players like newegg, monarch, ZZF have done anything. :confused:

4000+ at 1.35V? It looks like AMD is tempting overclockers to pick up the 4000+, since 1.35V Vcore will make their TDP at stock to be 67W like other winchester. You have to pay a premium for that anyway $637 per pop. My guess is that 4200+ and FX-57 should appear at computex Tapei May ending/June (6-8weeks time as hinted by some insider).

Supposed to hit their warehouse on 18 Apr...so processing time and shipping etc maybe get it late next week, if not sometime the following week...of course if I'm too far back in the line on the 18th and it doesn't ship, then it'll be time to find somewhere else to buy...tired of waiting all this crap out

hrmmm interesting picture with the 3200+ Venice. The last 2 letters show BN. I thought there's no BN Venice 3200+ model. Isn't BN a rev. E4 core with 1MB L2 cache? please correct me if i'm wrong or i'll have to hunt this chip down :). if akiba shows pictures of these chips, you know for sure it's going to be available soon. i will have to place a pre-order this friday from anyone selling it cheap. so far looks like sparco is at 200$. I hope monarch doesn't jack up the price.

I went ahead and ordered a 3700+ San Diego from Sparco as well (ADA3700BNBOX), it was $339.63 + $19.84 = $359.47 total. They are projecting one of their warehouses (Los Angeles, CA) will have it 4/18. I just hope I ordered it in time to get one from the initial shipment.

Judging from the OEM price lists at http://epscontest.com/prices/rm_2005_04_11.htm I would say that $339.63 is quite a fair price, and is likely to be as good a price as you will get. Monarch, Newegg, ZZF, and like will probably trade on their bigger names to price-gouge the heck out of Venice/San Diego for initial shipments. Sparco is a small name, and they have good ResellerRatings, so I decided to go with them.

In the meantime, if Monarch actually does put up a preorder this weekend and it is price competitive (which I doubt, because right now the 3500+ Winchester is $335 on their site, and the 3700+ San Diego will undoubtedly be more), then I might consider canceling and switching over. We'll see. I have no hope for Newegg and ZZF, Newegg has said mid-May and I now believe them, since I can see from Sparco's site that after the 4/18 shipment, the next one is 5/13.

edit: According to someone at OC Forums, Sparco is getting 100 3700+ San Diegos in on 4/18. I sincerely hope that I, ordering so late in the day, will get one. :woot:

Heh, stop dreamin'. It still says "4" in OPN = 512 kB cache. I guess the other 512 kB is disabled, just like that 3500+ above. San Diego core, 512 kB!!! :stick:
