Air Cooled Gallery

I should get an award for messiest/worst cable management. You try fitting all this in a Silverstone LC20! :P
Specs are in sig, 24/7 stable for 12hours Orthos Small FFT, and countless 3dmark loops

Cooling is a Noctua NH-U9 with 2x Sanyo Denki 92mm Mini Ace in push/pull
I picked the Noctua because it was the only tower style heatsink with height clearance to fit into my case. Pretty pleased with the results

i'm liking the air cooled system of yours ... especially that dual fan noctua ... one of the best coolers on the planet.

but what's *really* got me worked up is the dirty dishes in the retractable key board drawer. :)

so classic!

anyway, they look like dirty dishes ... maybe pasta or raviolis or something ... so pardon me if they aren't dirty at all. but ... i'm hoping they are. adds character.

lol...thanks. Its actually ketchup, was eating a plate of curly fries earlier when I took that x_x. I don't put my keyboard there because it hurts my wrists since its so low.

The Noctua is definately a nice cooler, fits perfectly in my lower profile Silverstone Case. I think 135mm is about the max height cooler I can use :( , but I am glad I found the Noctua. It let me get a very decent overclock despite a much smaller case. I do have it ghetto rigged though, using a rubber band because I can't use the metal clips with the Sanyo Denki's. Managed to tidy up the wires a little bit better today, but I wish there was a way I could hide the big ATX connector

on next time my system were fully watercooled, then it would fit. :D

Don't know what your problem is. The way the fan is mounted now, pointing upwards, may even be the best way for overall cooling. You get cool air thorugh the backside intake 120mm fan, which then flows though the cpu heatsink and then pointing towards the chipset heatsink and the back of the VGA. Looks great to me.
But perhaps a push-pull assembly of the cpu-heatsink's fans could still help a bit.

true, but the VGA is getting hot air blown directly over it. But the cpu is staying at pretty good temps.

The air shouldn't be really "hot", but rather lukewarm. And airflow with lukewarm air is still better than no airflow. ;)
As long as you don't have the CPU pumping out heat like crazy, this setup should be one of the best.

And as I said, perhaps a push-pull alignment of the fans on tat Noctua could make sure that the air doesn't even have the time to heat up that much. :)

I only bought the CPU HSF because Tuniq's weren't available in Canada at the time.
They are good fans. I find them better than the Yate Loon's that I also use.

Thanks! In fact your duct was my inspiration for this one =P I just adapted the design for P5W. It lowered a couple of degrees of the NB heatsink while helped me get 405fsb stable.

I liked the improved version and that's already in my plans but i'm just out of material for now.

well this is good news because i just bought 2 of them over yate loons for my new rig im building, i have 2 loonies as case fans in the current rig and quite frankly im not impressed.
