Well here is a good bit of news:
I have a socket A mobo for a certain t-bird 1.13GHz CPU on the way, and also I just got a free 3200+ Winchester with a broken pin. Well I've fixed a broken pin before so I'm hoping I can fix this one, then get a mobo/RAM for it :D Would add nicely to my arsenal, heck I might end up tearing down fold3 and replace it with that so I don't have to mess with this annoying crashing all the time!
I got curious and sent Rmc[AZ] a PM asking about F@H, he said he's moving out of state so his boxes are packed up. Once he gets settled in at the new place he hopes to be back up and running though maybe not with quite as much PPD has he used to have. But he'll be back from the sound of it :)
Nice job getting the skt A board man, which rigs are in the cardboad bladecenter at the moment? Fold3 in there? I know you'll get that 3200+ firing out WU too :up:

fold2, fold3, and fold4 are in the box. Go figure, fold3 has been running prime95 most of last evening, all last night, and part of this morning and no errors...
I do plan on getting that 3200+ crunching, depending on the mobo I may OC it a little too :D I have the stock 4 heatpipe cooler from my opteron I'm going to use, I think that should give me some cooling headroom ;)
OK I ran prime95 for a good 12 hours, no errors. Ran memtest for 20+ passes, no errors. So I rebooted, let it fold and it hardlocked within 10 minutes :rolleyes:
Running a different CPU stress test now, stressCPU I think it is called. We'll see what happens. SURELY something HAS to come up, it isn't freezing up for no reason! Maybe it hates windows and I should try slapping linux on it to see if it changes anything. But I know nothing about linux so that could be interesting....
Sounds like a good box for a test run using linux, the actual f@h client is almost exactly the same setup, once the OS is on there at least.. Bizarre that it primes OK & wont fold for more than 10mins :shrug:
What free linux would you go for, i.e. easiest to set up and get running without fooling around with tweaks ;)
Also, I'm wondering now if maybe the problem in windows is a driver? I'm just using generic windows drivers, maybe I need to get something more "official."

Console only, no need for a GUI to slow it down any.
I would recommend either Ubuntu (uses ~1gig I think, maybe more) or DSL (damn small linux, I beleive less than 100mb installed footprint). Both are very easy to install.Quote:

Ooooo core 1 got project 1495, I love that one! :D 364 points, and it nets me about 457 PPD on core 1, and 105 PPD on fold1. Wish I'd get more of those instead of these 2124 and 2125 projects, the computers just eat through them :cool:
Another noob question :) I have 2 clients running on my x2 3800. Using FahMon to monitor them. One client has a 18hr wu and it tells me it's worth 362 points. the second client has a 2 day wu and says it's worth 396 points WTF? :confused: A day and a half longer for 30 more points? Did the benchmark mess up for that core? And Sparky, I have a ECS K600 socket A board that I'll give you if the other one doesn't work out.
I'm guessing the 396 pointer is a 2124, those are notorious for being slow. What is the project number of the other one? Also realize that the ETA is just a rough estimate, if you are using your computer alot the ETA goes up.
About that mobo, the system (fold3) I'm having trouble with is a socket 378 celeron system. However, I do have a 900MHz athlon just sitting here - does that board take PC100/PC133 or DDR RAM? If it takes PC100 or PC133, hmm... what do you want for it? :D
