The way you get weapons felt drastically different. They added so many that instead of clusters of weapons and ammo you find one gun here, another there. Plus, the addition of melee weapons which means they had to change physics and what not for it. I played through the first level of the Dark Carnival and it certainly felt a lot different than L4D 1. It was REALLY open. I mean, my friends and I actually got lost and there are some weapons that you couldn't find unless you explored some.
It just seemed like there were a ton of possibly smaller additions play wise that, that I couldn't expect anyone to add for free. More changes than TF2 has had from what I have seen. That made it worth the money to me. IF you could find some friends the game only cost $33.75 assuming you don't have to pay tax like I did.
The demo for those that pre-ordered comes out today, so I am sure there will be tons of opinions soon if you want them.
