Bottom located ports on a big tower case that people basically put on the floor, bad idea. That was the biggest downer with first Lian Li V-series, later corrected on their new A7x, A6x series (ports on top panel as they should be). I know first hand, had a V-2000 until now, moving to an A71F, i already love the top mounted ports. Actually the PC-60F cases we have got at work have the top mounted ports too, and i noticed people use them a lot more naturally.

- 1 × 480 RAD on top
- possibility to mount 1 × 120 on the back.
- space for pump and reservoir (250 RES)

I mean, can they be installed on the roof (not on a front panel) ? Very much like in the newest Lian Li towers - they use a special angled connector to keep a low profile, so it can be installed on the roof panel just over the top 5.25 bay.Quote:

making some curve in the case body, not necessarily the same in TJ07 but I’ll put it as an example.

car manufacturers do this kind of stuff which make the front bumper for an example look stronger than what it really is like if it was built from a thicker material, and I think this kind of curves do really strengthen the body.
and it gave an extra dual color painting option for the case.
and why not adding some murdermod finishing ideas like something similar to their TJ07 Serpentine Topgrill?

Finally, after watching your other thread "What do you think of my "water cooling" case design" for months and it hardly move at all, I then find that you have started another one.
So after reading ALL 24 pages I am back up to speed with this sweet beast (in blue).
Mick I am glad to here that you are still working on the 2D drawings, I know this part can take heaps of time and even try the patience of a saint.
However I really feel it is the first stage, in taking this case from dream to reality.
This is really the only way to work out how to build the case from the ground up, and, like you stated, then take the 2D drawings to get accurate costing quotes,
of both materials and labor, aluminium being the cheaper of the two, by far, as labor cost will be where the real cost will add up.
I have read that you have taken or at least contacted some, probably all case manufactuers about building this case as it is.
However, have you asked them Point Blank (after they have seen what you have) what you would need to change/modify/add or remove from this case to get it to a prototype/production stage?
Have you contacted Bitspower about taking the jump into building a case?
As Bitspower make excellent fitting why not cases.

The case is really nice but I'll tell you right now why the case won't go in production by any company. It's to specifically geared towards watercooling. In the end you can only house in 4 drives and have 3 5'25" bays.
Now what do most people have.... still use aircooling and more often than other who buy big towers because this will be one is the fact that it has too little room for drives. To give you an idea. I have 2 IcyDocks 1 dvd writer thus filling all 5'25" bays. and have 5 hard drives. 1 for boot/apps 1 for games 1 for downloading (something older) and 2 for for somewhat longer storage. Not to mention the 2 USB drives and until I find myself the time to finish my idea of a new fileserver case i'm designing I don't think the situation will improve on the drives side :(
Anyways besides that the case looks awesome. although I don't like the low USB ports.
You obviously haven't read the whole thread or you would not be making these comments! The case is extremely versatile. It is possible to fit ten drives, if that's what you want, and the ports are modular so you can put them in any of the bays or remove them, and yes I did specifically design the case for water cooling!!!Quote:

I really wish that you could get Lian Li to build this. I would put in for a pre-order right now! It seems like they already make speciallized cases for stuff so this would be perfect for them. I think they would sell a decent amount of them. If you think about any case maker is really a niche market because home users buy a Dell or so. So for anyone to make a case like this would just make decent sense.
Great design. I enjoy the removable tray with the inverted board like a lian li.
I might have missed it in the previous thread but is that a T3 in the top bay with a 480?
