1.29V for VNB with 8GB of RAM is impressive :)
Hmm hope you managed to resolve the problem with your system, with any luck it's just a lose cable or some how the Radeon needs unplugging and then replugging in (I had that happen with my old Radeon 9500 where it appeared to be dead after some overclocking on my old s478 NW PC, but after unplugging it and plugging it back in all was fine)

Vdimm = 1.66v
Vnb = 1.29v
cpu = E8400 running at 500x8.5 (because its summer hot hot, or else it would be 500x9)
And the Ram is OCZ but different models...
yes my Hd4870x2 problem is killing me.
It was 100% this friday and then on saturday it gradually started to freeze. First, after 10 minutes of GTA4, then I played 2 hours of FEAR2 and it freezed again. Then it started freezing every 10 minutes in FEAR2. Sunday it freezed after seconds!
I just plugged a borrowed Corsair TX750w (amazing, this PSU doesn't heat up... my nox 700w is a hoven) and it still freezes with stock clocks. I don't understand.
I Might as well just remove the X2 from the watercooling system and test it in another computer. So troublesome... I hate these kind of problems. This is also the worst part of having watercooling. Having to disassemble...
Well, I think I found out the problem. But this problem is happening gradually. It was OK last friday.
So here it is:
500FSB with 8GB DDR3 1333mhz 8-8-8 = CPU 100% IBT stable, and RAM 100% memtest stable.
So the BUS between the CPU <-> Northbridge <-> RAM works 100% stable.
The problem is the chipset <-> PCI-E bus!
I need to figure out how to stabilize the PCI-E Northbridge connection.
Perhaps decreasing the pci-e bus speed.
I need to do more testing
Have you tried pumping a tiny but more Voltage into your RAM
1.66V isn't a lot of voltage for 8GB on the X48/X38 platform @ 1333Mhz.
As strange as this sounds have you tried a slight bump on the PCI-E buss (say to 101 or 102)?

Yeah I will try all sorts of things when I have the time. But its pretty clear so far the problem is the bus between nb and Pci-e.
IntelBurnTest runs flawlessly and it consumes 7300mb with 64bits, almost all of it. Memtest bootcd also runs without errors for hours. So its the path to PCI-E that hasn't have the juice.

turns out the problem was with the EK waterblock shorting the hd4870x2 lol... it isn't completelly solved yet.
As for the motherboard, here are the final specs:
8GB DDR3 1333mhz 8-8-8-28 1.66v
500FSB PL12 Lighter 333 strap 1.29v
E8400 @ 4250mhz or 4500mhz 1.3v
IBT stable
Memtest stable
3D stable
Around 20500 3dmark 2006 (with 4gb it could do 21500. Not bad)

I'm having problems about BSOD with my P5e64 Ws Evolution (bios 504) + Q9650 ES + 2x1gb Csx Diablo Low Voltage. My OS is Vista Home Premium 64bit.
I run stable for 2 hours with Prime95 (blend+small) but sometimes randomly i leave my pc run for hours and when i come back i found BSOD: :shrug:
1) Error like: DRIVE IRQ LESS.... bla bla bla
2) Error like: A CLOCK INTERRUPT WAS NOT RECEIVED ON A SECONDARY PROCESSOR WITHIN THE ALLOCATED TIME INTERVAL
I think my voltage are good for 4ghz

i wonder...which is the best bios for overclocking this motherboard?? i have the latest 802 but with load-line calibration on auto-perfomance...i take random BSOD! When i put in on normal it is ok, but for stable 3.8 on qx9650 i give 1.425 Vcore and on foul load it takes 1.36...isnt a problem that? help neeed!

#The_Don you will certainly not be able to overclock the FSB to 500 with a quad core CPU. I have RAM rated at 1800 MHz (FSB 450) and I have never been able to run this FSB stable with my QX9650 (others have though). High FSB requires a high northbridge (NB) voltage. Unfortunately my personal experience is that the northbridge is becomming less and less tolerant to high NB voltage (I even have my NB watercooled). At the moment I only run a 381 FSB with the NB at 1.33 V. Earlier I ran FSB 442 with a NB voltage of 1.61. I do not claim this is true for all P5E64 WS Evo boards, but I am quite sure the problem is the NB in my case. Bottom line I will recommend you to by some 1600 MHz RAM with the lowest possible timings (they will overclock past 1600 MHz if you have a good NB).
First aim for the highest possible CPU overclock using the unlocked multiplier, then maximize the FSB/RAM speed, finally try to tighten the RAM settings. Depending on your experience with overclocking you may stick to step 1 and 2.

Wow, that's somewhat dissapointing to hear. I thought the FSB is the bottleneck for my system so had hopes of reaching 500 as people report 600 with water and even air.
What is it about the quad cores that doesn't allow the FSB to clock much?
I will try my best and report what happens. Although I doubt many people are interested in the OC results of a 2 year old CPU and MB.
Was my logic sound in that if I did clock to 500MHz, I would need 2000MHz RAM (assuming 2:1 ratio)
The FSB will be the bottleneck (you can always buy memory able to handle higher speeds).

Yes at FSB 500 the memory speed will be 2000 MHz (4xFSB).
