I have sent you PM ket about your BIOS, than posted here...
how is it connected I don't know :D
Now i see that 645MHz is reachable, I'll try your bios + i have just mounted HR-05 on NB (23c) without fan.
I'll post my new results soon :)

any suggestion is appreciate
OK guys, I have found out at least one of the problems I had: my external HDD (eSATA) was causing a lot of crashes the past days - I think it's because of an driver issue, so WHAT driver do I need for the backside eSATA-port to work correctly???
I could not do over with my e2160 =(
Hi folks,
I thought I would let you know that both of my P45 'A3'rev. boards will run 4x2GB ram at 2.06vdimm/1068DDR2/445fsb/5-5-5-18, and 1.20v on the NB. E8400board has two sets of older style Reaper1066, E7200 has one set 'new style' Reaper1066 and one set of Platinum1066.
E8400@4.005GHz, E7200@3.78GHz
As much as I despised that first A2 board, these are both winners!
I seem to be experiencing the same with the Gigabyte EP45T, A3 rev seems way better but I need way more volts than with the P5Q Dlx ( logic ofcourse )
have any program to increase the clock by the windows, with the p5q-e?
i don't even use drivers for eSata. i have a thermatake blacx where i can throw in sata drives and it connects them via esata and i didn't have to install drivers. plug"n"play
Question. I always want more off my CPU E8500@ 4.1ghz C0 on water, very stable and fast.
Why do i keep thinking about upgrading to a Q9550 on this board, be able to run 4.0ghz stable. (Anyone running this on this board) I don't see many people hitting 4ghz stable or this board? Would it even be worth it? Or should i just get a E8500 EO and do 4.5ghz? I don't think i will see much improvement anyways.
Or just suck it up, and be happy with what i have, i should upgrade my 4850, waiting for the GTX 295's to come down :)
suck it up and await a new Gfx card, you got enough cpu speed to mess with...why waste anymore money for a minor advantage and maybe be utterly dissapointed ( by eg a bad clocking CPU)... Phenom II of I7 are next...
My A2 board worked ok for a few weeks, but with the same BIOS (1201) I am running on the A3s I had to run about 0.10 to 0.14 more NBv. The older 4x2G Reapers on E8400 board are still at 2.06v/1.20NBv, but E7200 with 'new' 4x2G Reapers are at 2.10v/1.24NBv and it's clocked up a little more to 3.808GHz@448fsb these days - but I imagine that could just be variance between two boards.
here is new bios 1703 16. december 2008.
P5Q-E BIOS 1703
1. Fix chassis fan mode can't be saved after resume from S3.
2. Fix display priority is not correct when plugs two PCIE VGA cards.
3. Enhance the compatibility with certain memory.

is it safe to flash it through ASUSUpdate from windows?
no it's not safe, especially not if you overclock because it will flash/ reset the bios and loose the bios settings and then your system will crash, etc. you know the rest
i would use the bios integrated flash option. you can get to it by either pressing F8 during boot or just get in the bios, it's on the next to last tab. EZ Flash
i would also recommand to use a thumb drive instead of a floppy disk. it's faster
Results without LLC wich was giving me headcache :D I will try drop vcore even more

BIOS 1703 KILL my overclock.:mad::mad:
How can I downgrade to BIOS 1406?? EZFlash doesn´t work same AFU306U.exe.
HELP!!!:(
Question, what kind of BIOS are you guys using? I'm starting to believe that 1703 did no good for my rig, since I'm receiving a BSOD with "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval" on a daily basis. Weird part though is that my rig is rock solid (Q9550 @ 3.6/1.17v) and temps are 28~56.
Could this be just a random driver problem, or did I screw up my CPU? @@
My A2 has been fine,i have'nt tried a 45nm or quad in it yet but it does 500fsb stable with my 6750 in it.Never had a problem with it.
CPU Margin Enhancement : Compatible has resolved my instabilities with newer bios files. (500fsb Wolfdale)
After I've updated my P5Q-E BIOS to newest version ( 1703 ) with my E7300 i can't get any OC, everything boots up succeful, but when i log on into windows, everything crashes and restarts.
Any Ideas how to fix this ?
