well the partical board you are using might work fine for you bud,
but i have to make one that looks good and easy to mount for the adverage guy.
but biggest problem with the partical board is size and how it fitts into the board.

for the masses it needs easy usage and compact size.so far only this metal type cover does all i need.strenght ,compact.fully insulated,and with the guides it wil stay in proper contact with the cpu.

yea for me it is easy to use anything on mine, but to make one to look nice for a custom job i have the hard long road to walk.

but i just got back and here is the guides glued into the inside of the cover.next is pouring insulation into it.with a evap inside.

Bowman,

Is there a way to make it so that if the rods misses the guides, they will not poke thru the foam insulation instead? In other words, when mounting it, if you miss the guide hole, you will know right away because it will not poke thru the foam leading you to think you are in the guide hole until you realize that it is not coming out the other side. I find myself tearing up the insulation and poking holes in it if I miss one of the guide holes. Maybe a hard surface around the guide holes instead of the soft foam...some kind of cover?

yea i know excactly what you are saying...LOL

i have these sticking out 3/16" from the cover so you can see them.and the cover will not go down as far as on the one you have.the cover well have to seal against a piece of neopreme on the board.that should also keep it from hitting anything going from one board to another...i hope.:D

have you tried a Albatron KX18D?

they have some really impressive specs.

VCore=2.65 volts (no joke thats 2.6 is right ;) )
VDD= 1.9 Votls.
Vdimm= 3 volts.
VAgp= 1.85 volts.

the guys who did the review on it, got some pretty impressive numbers, and the board is dirt cheap, only 70 dollars on newegg for the non pro version (lacks a bunch of useless crap like sata raid, and fancy sound)

man that is killer specs.i am tapped right now thou.i man be tapped even harder soon.i may be cutting back on my spending some.thinking about consolidating some bills and trying to pay my place off early to get my ex once and for all out of my hair.:D

i will have to make that decision soon:(

damm this foam hasnt cured yet...:(
well i will let it set to tommorow morning i guess.

then i have to trim and cut it so i can remove the evap i was using as a form.will leave me with a 2 piece insulated cover.that can be turned so it can be used on all p 4 boards without turning the evap.:D

hey bowman, what spray foam is that?
I was thinking about usiong some Daptek spray foam but it is latex based and i wasnt sure if that was good or not for this application.

Did you weaten everything inside before the process ? This will help your foam, it would be stronger and it has better insulation properties :)

Did you glue these wooden holders to the evap or they are just standing ?

i dont under stand weaten buddy?

anyways i suspect you wonder how i keep those wooden dowels upright and staying in place while i assemble it and the foam cures?

well i use super glue to glue the dowel to the block.it doesnt have any strenght to wood so they turn loose from the block when i push the evap back out.

i did push the block out this morning..man it really looked good except for a small area that hadnt cured ,so it is in a small oven back together now to warm it up to cure faster.

humidity causes the foam to cure much faster and its harder and has better insulation propoerties

Bowman, and how did your evap enclousure came out ? Is it like you wanted it to be ?

and how's it going with your cascade, any progress or is the system finished and waiting for a can of low temp freon ? :D

Hi Bowman

You now I use a R404a Prommy march I with Vapochill "ad on" cooling (some call it cascade ?!)P4@4353.

For some time, I have been planing the next projekt...
Now the engineers at "JOUAN Nordic A/S" Industry has send me the final detail-plan for a tru cascade system with ethen (R1150) The garantied cooling effekt is:

700W at -40 degree celsius
310W at -70
200W at -80
120W at -90
100W at -100:D

Its a modded Prometeia cooling head bilt on barebone
unit CBN 28-90 used for cooling-bath.

What do you think?

well thats a great setup tom.
i believe the temps well be closer to 100watts @-80c these wattages given by refrigeration people are not close on a pc tom.there is alot going into there caculations not shown.for one you have heat made by the compressor and heat pulled from hoses and such.so a unit that runs at 100w at -100 will proberly be lucky to see -80c...and i mean if they are lucky.

well the inclosuse is the best so far.i am tickled pink.i have it now where it comes apart for removal of the evap or the turn the head for use on differant motherboards.sorry i havent posted any pics.
this week is tough.my daughter is in a beauty pageant today and it has taken alot of my time this week.

cascade...well im not in a hurry like alot of the guys.it is setting here.its not going anywhere,and i am constantly thinking up improvments to use.i really dont want to start posting pics on the unit yet.i know alot of the guys are waiting,but....a cascade is a dangerous thing...and some many dont realize the dangers of one.if something happend while you were in close range of the unit when it exploded......death is a possablity or severe injury can result.these units need to have the proper safety devices installed. mine will be a completly properly setup cascade.
the unit will be run before i go to the time of charging r95 in the low side.i will be testing it with co2 first to check for leaks and general run though.it will proberly work with co2 if i can keep it below the triple point safely.
i am finishing up the prommys i have in the next couple of weeks and no more are being taken in until i finish the cascade and play with my own projects.i have brand new cpu and boards laying around getting old before i can even play.
