I want one:DD
Honestly, it is a very attractive mobo.
You guys think this board is worth it for an E6600?
whats different about the modded bios?
Sorry of being too lazy_ass myself (to use search) but can someone tell is this a Dolby Digital mobo... enable to give out DD pcm stream out from s/pdif...?
I tested RichH's modded Bios.
So did Gary/bingo13----and some others
Totally fixed the "Multi stuck at 6x in Vista" problem I was having. Fan and Power Management stuff seems very solid.
No losing the NIC and my IDE Optical funtions perfectly with a 4-disk RAID-5 array.
No downsides that I could find at all----very solid....
You can go over to the Abit forum and PM him for a copy if you desire----he just started sending it out to interested people.
May be the best BIOS we are going to see for a while....
Your call----I liked them and am using them.
Same caveats hold true as always with Beta Bios------Rich is not responsible if your machine decides to act like an Iraqi Tank-----try at your own risk.
But I've used them for several days and they seem very SOLID!
John
did it improve your overclock?
First off I just want to thank everyone on the forums. I have learned alot but still quite wet around the ears. I have been experimenting with my new system and from what I have read 1T was difficult for everyone on this board (quad GT).
This is not orthos stable but I don't want to up my NB over 1.5 till I get a cooler. Windows stable since I am posting here on it.
I am fully air cooled btw. I have got full orthos blend stability at 3.4 @ 1.46 vcore which seems to droop down to 1.41 under full load.
I am still on the shipped bios. Super PI scores seem lower then I would think, but I think I have good Sandra bandwith. Will post more.
Hope we all continue to work with this board and get the most out of it!

I am gradually increasing my overclock...
So I have not hit a wall yet with any of the Bios...
But this one stopped the "Multi locked at 6x with Vista" problem----so in that sense the performance jump was big
And his Fan Management stuff works quite well.....my system is remarkably quiet at idle....
would like to test those beta bios by richhs, wondering if is helping memory overclocking , can some one please post trichhs bios so we can get it?
I would appreciate it if someone would post the bios since i cant log onto the forums and hence cant email anyone to get it, i would only like it if it helps with ram stability above certain fsb or ram speed combos as i dont have any problems like the 6x multi or raid issue since i dont have raid running
thanks
just go on abits forum just got it from him 5.5.5. 490 t1 ftw cant bench it or anything but it booted my commando took my cellshocks with it =/ also richh was just on didnt have to wait a min :)

I am making my first move into dual core. At present I am still using a socket 478 CPU and board. I have been putting careful thought into what motherboard to buy, 975x, P965 or 680i. I have been reading this thread and the one on the Abit IN9 32X-Max and given the problems with the 680i chipset I have decided to go with the AB9 QuadGT. I just wished to check to see if the following components are OK.
I will be water cooling and will use a D-Teck Fuzion, Swiftech MCW30 for the northbridge, DangerDen 8800 GTX Block, Swiftech Micro-Res, Stealth GTS 240 and a 120 radiator and a Swiftech MCP655 Pump with 1/2" tygon tubing.
Intel E6600, 2Gb Patriot DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz CL4 Extreme, Abit AB9 QuadGT, 500GB Seagate HDD, BFG 8800GTX, Creative X-Fi Music sound card, Enermaxy Infinity 720w PSU and a Silverstone TJ09 case.
Thanks. :toast:
