Any one has problem using the first PCI slot (close to PCI-E)?
I tried a Blitz PCI wireless network adapter on 2 DS3 mobo, never works. The system does not boot with wireless card on first PCI slot.
which cpu voltage is true?
BIOS? EasyTune Advance mode? EasyTune PC health Hardware monitor? CPU-Z? lol
I need some help getting a hard drive recognized. I have a 80gb sata which is fine. On IDE I have a Sony dvd drive and a 200gb hard drive. The hard drive isnt being recognized. When it's set to master and the dvd is set to slave, the dvd drive doesnt work and Windows acts weird and freezes up. Then when the dvd is set to master and the hard drive is set to slave the dvd is fine but the hard drive isn't recognized. Anybody have any suggestions?
the SB after is so hot, but i place 1 fan 40mm and stay cool now :P
My Audigy 2 won't work in that slot.Quote:

in order to have the hard drive as master it must be on the END of the cable. and the dvd on the SECOND connector.
second,,, how do you have the bios set ?
set SATA Native mode to Disable
Set SATA Controller to IDE unless your using raid.
i hope your loading windows off the SATA drive...
if that still doesnt work set the dvd and hard drive as cable select.
some configurations dont like master and slave but prefer Cable select.
but some dont like cable Select and prefer Master and Slave.
you just have to swap them around to find out.
i never recommend someone put a IDE drive ont he same cable as a DVD-Rom unless they have no other choice. which unfortunately is the boat we are in with the DS3.
you may want to opt to purchase a sata hard drive to replace the IDE one.
i mean for heavens sake you can get 350gig drives on Newegg that use the new Parallel Writing for 99 bucks.
and stick the ide drive in a usb enclosure.
Thanks for response. I didn't know it matter where on the cable the hard drive was. The hard drive was on the second when everything was acting funny. I will try the cable-select setting in a bit.
Is the Gigabyte DS3 bootable? Can you get into DOS with the CD?
Is that to me? If it is, I can boot and I have windows installed on a 80gb sata drive, and its just my 200gb ide storage drive that isn't being recognized.Quote:

The only time it matters which connector you use is if you set your drives to cable select (CS). If the drives are specifically configured as master/slave then you can use whichever connector you prefer.Quote:

Same problem here. Using a SATA drive to boot, IDE burner ok, but my 250gb WD IDE drive is labeled "unreadable". It's a known working drive, so it's the DS3 being weird again. Also, only with native sata enabled can I OC.Quote:

@CrazyJohn: Try to replace your DS3. It's definetaly holding you back. I just got another DS3 and now I'm up to 3.35G. And my Goodram works flawlesly with CAS3 or CAS4. With my previous DS3 I couldn't OC more than 410FSB and I could use CAS4 only for benchies, with CAS3 didn't even boot.

I just slapped on a Forcetake Jing Ting. The NB no longer hurls fireballs at me.
Just flashed to F4 and temps spiked on idle like 6C. CPU-Z was showing 1.4 instead of 1.3. I also found it would happen with the RAM too. It spiked to 2.1 and there's no way of setting 1.8 AFAIK, so it's at 1.9. The only one I didn't move was the PCIe, but now I'm wondering if that's getting overvolted too!?!? Anyway to check that guys?
@Jodiuh:
def mem V @ F4 bios is 2.1V !!!!
Hey, i tried to plug in a extra ide hd i have and it didn't work. How would i get it so the computer sees it?
I'm using stock everything and I tried OCing my E6400 from 266MHz to 300MHz but it froze during the windows loading screen. Also, EasyTuner freezes my computer when I try to overclock anything, is something wrong here? Do I need to use different voltages?
Are you sure? I don't think that's right, because I still have my vdimm set to +0.3v and I'm running stable. Easy Tune even shows my vdimm @ 2.1v in windows.Quote:
