black rules,,,, you can do white if your case is white,, whatever color your only excuse for not painting is if your case is sheetmetal color on the outside and i know its not
i didnt do the removable mb tray but dosnt matter if you do

Great looking case Rasco!
I myself gonne put the res on the backside of my case, i haven't got enough space left inside.
It will be a lot easier yo fill also.
What is the blue coolant you're using?
Is it Pentosin, it looks gr8.
really clean Rasco, I like your work very much :toast:

have a question..
Is there better cooling when u use bigger tubes???
In europe we have 1/8 its very small!!
thanks jan
1/8? 1/8 what? Inch?
He must be referring to 8/6mm or 10/8mm tubing.
hey Radical :
when are we gonna see some pics of your case? muhahahahahahaha. :D
Just teasing you, m8. ;)
6,4 zentimeter innendurchmesser..Ist schlechter mit der kühlleistung oder??
@jan: Much worse. Even the bigger 10/8 has like 80% less area than 7/16" tubing. Big difference on the newer blocks!
@jupiler: Yes, as soon as it's ready! Why are you teasing me, I'm only working on it for a year and a half now? :D Well well...
PS: Planning on getting it ready at the end of this year... maybe +2-3 weeks, we'll see.
Here are a few my latest build
Nice RD30 and G5. ;)
Speaking of RD30-G5 Config, how many are there that have this setup?
I know of like two, myself and OCMe but there are others out there.
I think I should start of thread for those of us that have said config.
I know nikhsub1 used too run that same setup, and Cathar might as well.Quote:

I originally planned to build a "addon" under the case from my old one to place the rad in, but my old case was not as wide as this one so this was easier in the end. I also don't like fullsize cases that much :nono:
Everything ordered from Petra's offcourse ;)
Thanks Enjoy! The G5 was once freecableguy's... wonder if he is ever sorry he let it go? Out of all the 8 WB's I have owned in the past it is the best! :DQuote:

I've been lurking here for a while to learn as much as I could about watercooling, and all of you helped me quite a bit, thanks. I figured I'd share the results with you.
I originally installed this system in August, but I was never happy with it, so I never posted it. I didn't like the tubing hanging out the back, the pump placement was cramped, and the res and pump were not firmly mounted to the case. I didn't want to cut my case. Here's the original setup. The res is a Swiftech MCRES-MICRO sitting in the 5.25" area.

http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4...ling031pb2.jpg
And the new setup. Got over my fear of cutting my case. One of my white CCFL's decided to die on me during all this, so thats missing in the pics, but will be replaced soon.

Looking good mate, turning that Rad around made a nice differance.
Wait a minute. How did you manage to get your tubing to pass through the PCI slot cover without crimping? Are you using 7/16" ID or 3/8" ID tubing?
he cut a hole in it didnt he? he used the window molding too. It looks good! what case is that?Quote:

*fan on tubes doesnt have that duct no it anymore, and its to cool the mobo mosfets and those 3 ics that get hot with the vmem mod on my 79gt. I have those big copper sinks on every mosfet on the card and the memory and those 3 ics. Also have a 80mm panaflo blowing across the video card from the front to back.
*are the pictures too big?
The original setup is 7/16" and the tubing passes through without any cutting, barely. The new is 1/2" and I used a dremel to widen the opening and stuck in a rubber grommet.Quote:

rjblanke...Looks way better now! :D
rjblanke,
Did you see an improvement in temps going from a MCRES to a Fillport T-Line? Or is it for convenience?
IanY, I didn't see any temp differences between the two setups, but I'm not using what most here would call accurate temp measuring. The primary reason for it was I wanted to move my pump to where the res was, and the pump and res wouldn't fit there together without tight turns in the tubing. The T-Line kept the loop as simple and short as possible.
Can't remember if i posted this or not, nothing special or fancy, just gets the job done and i can take it places.

Sorry I'm wrong! Its an Apogee. I dunno what I was thinking lol :)
I believe that's an apogee with a replacement mounting plate similar to this: http://www.moddersmart.com/index.php...product_id=271
Wow, nice touch and just 5 bucks.
The stock metal plate is ten times stronger but the plexi one looks very nice.
I though it was a one-off home made piece.
Yeah, it's the plexi top from moddersmart.com My stock plate is alot stronger but so far my plexi top is holding just perfect. Sobe Lizard Lava is sure good haha. It is all about brisk though :)
rjblnke, how/where have you routed your 24pin power cable? And could you post a pic of the other side of your rig? I am impressed with the lack of a large power cable blocking ones view. :toast:
I have the same case and essentially the same motherboard, and I am in the process of adding water (I ordered some tygon 7/16" yesterday.) So I am looking around, getting some ideas...
Muunsyr, I believe it's behind the tube in this picture, took the liberty of circling it.
http://img327.imageshack.us/img327/4900/24pinqw8.png
Muunsyr, coyotetu is right, but you can't see in that pic that I removed the plastic piece around that cable hole, widened it a bit with a dremel, and put in some black channel molding. I found that the original size of the hole wasn't large enough to easily route the 24pin through.
Sorry, I don't have any pics of the other side, as I had to borrow my gf's digital cam to take those pics in the first place. I used a couple cable clips on the backside of the drive cage and in the roof of the case to hide away as much as possible. Thats really about it.

Here is the case. Lian Li G70 in silver, with a windowed side panel. They actually sent me the wrong one. I wanted the one with just a window and no holes but they sent the "official" G70 window panel instead. Ah well, it'll have to do. I don't want to pay the shipping to send it back.

Here are the holes for my rad. Believe it or not, I used a Dremel and touched things up with a file/sand paper. Almost perfect circles!
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/5993/blowholes.jpg
Here is the radiator install. It is designed to blow air out of the case, with the other fan holes acting as inlets. Had to drill out those annoying rivets first.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/676/radinstall.jpg
And here is the top installed.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/9100/topinstall.jpg
The guts.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/6793/waterblocks.jpg
Here is my initial loop design. Not too shabby. I love this case.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/4503/loopdesign.jpg
And now leak testing.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/5393/leaktesting.jpg
The finished product.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/3...shed-light.jpg
And in the dark. Purdy. I was going to use G11, but then my engineer's logic kicked in and said, "This may or may not be bad for a loop, and you are only putting it in because it is pretty. That is dumb." And so distilled water and anti-algea stuff it was.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/6...nshed-dark.jpg
Hope you liked it. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
Shifty your system is very nice, but man take the time to hide thoe wires! The G70 is so much potential for cable management that you should make it your number one priority to clean it up:p:
Looks gorgeous, shifty. That case really is a beauty, one of the few I prefer in silver over black. I'd love to see pictures later, to see if the tubes don't cloud since you didn't put any real additives in the water.
Thanks. That dremel work was kinda scary, because I've never cut up a case before. The only way I can see to manage wires better with a bottom PSU is to cut holes in the mobo try, which I'd really rather avoid.
But anyway, I had a theory on the cloudy tube issue. I almost think that it may be that plastic material the pump impeller housings are made of grinding off in extremely small, almost microscopic bits and eventually giving the water a slightly cloudy appearance. That could be totally wrong, but it was a thought. The impeller spins really fast, and you only have water as the lubricant... sooo who knows? That all assumes you cleaned out your rad a ton though first.
Nice job shifty.
Suggestion: drill a hole in the mobo tray under the mobo(~1.5" diameter). Than put all the wires cables from the PSU in there. You could also bring all the wires that come from the case and SATA behind the mobo tray and than pull them out through the same hole. Molding around the hole.Link below.
For the holes on the top of your case there is this:http://www.crazypc.com/products/83010.html
Good Luck.
Ouch, you don't have a modular PSU. I have a modular and the cables are still everywhere...:(
That trim looks pretty cool. I might have to look into that.
Does the PSU fit on the top like this?
No it doesn't, because my rad is where the PSU would go. I wanted to leave the front bays open. Plus, if I ever get a *.3 rad, I will need the entire space anyway.
oooohh... silver tygon, thats very unique :toast: Nice work.
Finally Another Person With A Neo He Psu!!! Woo Hoo

why are u using 2 res ?
cause the one on the left side carries a pump, and i´m going to buy a new pump
so I´ve already bought a new reservoir.
and filling the one with the pump is a hell, thats the reason I already installed it :)
Yeah, like the other dude said, you drill them out. I started with a small bit to get the shank part drilled out without enlarging the hole in the aluminum. Then I drill with a slightly larger bit into the head until just when I hit the aluminum and it should pop right off.Quote:
