Maybe this is a spurious correlation, but after I went back to 14, Vista won't recognized my 880 or 7800. What's worse, is that it is seeing the Nvidia drivers. Anytime I try to reinstall the drivers, it says access is denied.
Yes, I am an admin and yes, UAC is turned off. I can only run 1 of 3 monitor right now. Spent the past 6 hours on this. Sucks.
....you mean what am I running on the board?
E8400 OCed to 4Ghz (445x9, 1.37v)
8800 (G92) GTS, overclocked to 755, 1830, 1100
4GB Patriot Viper Fin RAM, OCed to DDR2890 @ 4, 5, 5, 12 (bleh)
Running with the 16 B10 BIOS.
If you meant to ask something else, could you please elaborate?
Hello everybody. I just got my e8400, and i was trying to run orthos on stock everything, no oc. Only bump was to the ram from 1.8V to 2.0V, after 20-30 minutes my computer freeze. Temp reading with realtemp are 30-35 idle, 45-50 when running orthos. I should be able to run orthos at stock speed and voltages, any idea?
Flashed from 16.B04 to the official 16, needed more vcore to be stable, tried the beta 17.B02 as well. Same thing, more voltage needed. Back to 16.B04. I noticed the cpu VTT was fluctuating on the 16/17.B04, but rock solid on 16.B04
sounds like the CMOS is corrupted...the only real way to correct that is to pull your PSU power plug, pop the battery out and clear CMOS for about 5-10 minutes...after that, reset everything back to normal; enter the bios and load optimized bios settings and SAVE...re-enter the bios and make your changes.
EDIT:...if this fails to correct the problem, i presume your flashing process had induced errors or corruption.
@ Ace...recently switched to MX-2, not the car :D , and Tenax got me worried about my temp.
present screenshots are here so maybe you could point out the temp discrepancy(ies)...hopefully nothing to be too concern coz I about ready to place my mobo in its pc case.
advance thanks
any suggestion for a NB fan btw
Anyone running 32-bit Server 2008 as a "workstation"?
Was curious as to whether: that O.S. would allow using 8 Gb memory, even though it's 32-bit?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
...............
Edit: only Server 2008 32-bit "Enterprise" (not 32-bit "Standard") version could support 8 Gb memory.
No. The reason 32-bit OSes cannot see more than 4GB of memory total is due to the "physical" limitation of a 32-bit address space. It's not some feature MS decided not to include with some OSes, but an actual limitation of being 32-bits - there are simply no more memory addresses possible beyond 4 gigabytes.
hmm odd flash annomalies. I used thumb drive to flash, with proper switchs. Flash went fine, but when booting back into windows, display drivers corrupt, and vista needed re-activation. Luckily that was a quick fix with online activation. CPU temps via uguru are reading way high..50c, while core temp still shows 32c idle. voltages look normal. I was on bios 14 this whole time. Might try a reflash with a full cmos clear. System seems stable though, just those quirks..never seen odd things like this after a bios flash.
"Windows server 2008 Enterprise 32bit can support 64GB RAM".

Hi… I realize that this is probably not the right place for this message but I am building my first computer with an Abit IP-35 Pro and… I’m scared that I’m going to do something wrong and screw it up. I installed the CPU and heat sink but got a bit confused with the front and rear panel wires, especially related to the polarity. I had a few other questions as well. Is there a kind soul familiar with this MB who could help me via IM or phone? It shouldn’t take long for someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks!
There seems to be some people recommending using Server 2008 over Vista (as a desktop workstation O.S.):

I know what some people "recommend", but IME it's best to use an OS which is designed for the way you actually intend to use it (which does not include playing games on a server OS) due to compatibility issues which tend to pop up.
In any case, why are we even discussing operating systems in a IP35-Pro thread? :)
Just out of curiosity, how do you access the half multipliers?
I have flashed to latest Bios version 16 and have no idea how to get the half multipliers. I have Q6600 G0.
Cheers
