same as the previous beta...it doesn't do jacksh*t for my multi above 9!...disappointing that abit can not get it in gear with QX9650...i could go back to 16.B04 to have that capability!...SIGH!:(

Here is the info:
First off I would like to apologize for asking for help before reading through this thread. And yes I just finished reading all 233 pages! So far I like this board more than any board that I have purchased in a long time. My P5K Premium is a great board but this Abit board is so easy to use and is feature rich, one hell of a deal for the money and then some. I would recommend this board to everyone and already have. I can't wait to see what the IP45 Pro will do.
This server is a Cruncher running WCG "BOINC" 24/7:
Specs:

Here are my temp loaded running all four cores at 100% on BOINC (verified in Task Manager):
Cores 42,42,42,43c
PWM 51c
I do not run Prime95 as it is not needed for my testing, 24/7 crunching all four cores loaded test the system all that I need. I do run wPrime 1024m test.
My question is do you think that I will see any improvements if I upgrade my bios and if yes which one is most recommended for a Q6600 G0, there was conflicting recommendations in the posts. Also, do you think my settings are right?
Thanks,
John

I read about the problems with bios update of abit ip35 pro with sofware abit(flash menu).
These problems always happen or are casual.
In my abit an7,bios update in other ocassions with flash menu, nothing problems
abit has a USA site; didn't you know????...you can get bios downloads right from there...they also provide the same old delayed data as taiwan provides...they are very slow with updating their sites most times...i was told 3 weeks ago they were going final on 16...on top of that, abit's forum is so unreliable at times with extensive down times, like 4-5 days at a time....i finally got tired trying to go to their forum when it was down.
No offense but you don't have all your facts straight. I don't know if you know or remember but I'm a mod there and the site (forums) hasn't been down now in some time. For awhile, like 6+ months ago there were problems but they have been fixed.
I can't speak for the main web site but agree that they are slow to update it and tonight trying to download a file it times out! But that has nothing to do with the forums. The forums are on a different server.
As far as bios releases, they come from TW. abit USA doesn't develop bios files.
i am happy for abit squaring away their forum problems....i just had it with them...i hang out at a site that is generally reliable like here...that said, even XS had outages every so often but no where close to abit's time outs.
abit is slow to update and USA site links to wherever...it still follows the lead of the Taiwan site.
putting both together just puts a sour taste in my mouth...on top of that, abit can not set the bios code to unlock the multi for QX9650's...they came up with ONE beta bios, as far as i can remember, which unlocked the multi like it suppose to be for that processor....it is really pathetic for a board that is really nice when operating.
Quick question:
I did the bolt-mod on my IP35-pro and replaced the rubbery plastic thing with ceramic based CPU paste. Now, my PWM (as reported by HWMonitor) climbs to 61 C under load, yet the heatsink itself is only a little bit warm to the touch.
Is this normal? I'm wondering if I need to tighten the bolts more or something, yet I'm pretty sure they were as tight as they were going to get when I first put them on.
Updated the front page earlier, added new bios, new drivers, more ram compatability, cpu cooler compatability. :)
Weird I flashed to 16, and the BIOS doesn't let me save any settings and exit. It just hangs after I enter Y, and try to save and restart. Ugh.
Edit: This is so strange. When I updated to 16 I could not save my settings all the time; only sometimes, and only certain ones it seems. When I would boot into Win, the OS would not see my 8800 Ultra which runs my 1st two monitors, it would only see the 7800 which runs my 3rd monitor. When I reverted back to 14, everything was peachy again.
