I receive today my Black Edition.
You will enjoy it by sure. :)
The new test with my Black Edition

Looks like a good chip, but you should test with linpack instead of occt. Use Linx preferrably.
Anyone running a 7970 or two on this board? I think one of my 480s has degraded to the point it's BSODing in 2D mode. Looking to get some replacement cards that might move into a newer build later. Wondering if I could crossfire new gen cards on this board.
Do any of you use the ROG OC Station with this MB? I know the MB has the OCS header but just want to know if it works with it or not as I picked one up for 30GBP and can always sell it on ebay if not.
I don't think there's a need for oc station since this board supports ROG connect to another computer, and then RC Tweakit.
When I can connect reliably with the iphone 4 :D I was curious because of the header on the MB. The plus points of the OCS for me is having a nice mini display, a fan controller, able to test some varibles on the fly without having to reboot all the while, using my iphone is a pain in the ass sometime and nicking my wifes laptop to mess about has a side effect of getting ear ache from the wife but just need to know if the OCS works with this MB.
I beg to differ. There is something different worth mentioning about this board. Had it for about a month now, wasted my time with bios 0001 (w/ tRL) which turned out to be unstable for me. 0505 was the trick.
(The official R3BE threads are practically dead, so I hope it's okay to post here.)
Rampage III Black Edition BIOS 0505
4509MHz (155.49x29) / 1866MHz 7-7-7-20-1N-60 / 3732MHz Uncore

CPU PLL (load_DMM) - 1.818v-1.819v
VTT (load_DMM) - 1.265v-1.266v
DRAM (load_DMM) - 1.631v
IOH (load_DMM) - 1.114v

0.03v lower VCore, 0.13v lower QPI, and 0.12v lower vdimm, than R3E. But 0.04v higher VCore than X58A-OC.
On R3BE every on-board feature was enabled including Thunderbolt. And I also had my TV Tuner installed. Very very good board this R3BE, and now I see it's purpose.
I'm trying to update to the latest BIOS, and it states to install IRST 10.5.0.1026 when doing so. But when I try to install IRST 10.5.0.1026, it states my computer doesn't have sufficient memory, how come? (Obviously it does, with 12 GB RAM as well). Do I update the BIOS first and then install IRST 10.5.0.1026?
you trying to install 64 bit driver package on 32 bit os?
Nope... I've got Windows 7 64-bit installed as my OS.
You don't have to use that specific driver, just a newer version than the one listed. Give the newest whql from station-drivers a try.
anyone tested 920 D0 with uncore 4000 on this board? i know it dependent on IMC of cpu.
my 920 D0 ran 4000mhz uncore with 1.4375v QPI on my r3e.
thanks zoson. trying 2x combination but i think this cpu needs 1.6 vtt for 4Ghz uncore :(
linx stress give bsod 124. still trying to find how much vcore will help.
On my first R3E my 3949A372 i7-920 needed ~1.375v QPI for 4000MHz Uncore.
BSOD 124 is sometimes for VCore also, not only QPI. Are you using LLC? Try 50% LLC on CPU.
Also my RTLs needed to be set in +2/+1 fashion (ie 51, 53, 54) rather than +2/+2 (ie 51, 53, 55). Worth a shot.
tried different combination 4Ghz uncore needs 1.6v qpi linx stable. but not stable with 2x combination. looks cpu imc is very weak :(
Been running this with various IMC limitations (This chip DOES NOT play well with memory at all) for about 2 and a half years now. 1T beyond 6GB seems impossible with this CPU no matter what settings I use.

Anyone tried the 8gb density modules on r3e? 24gb in 3 sockets... Might be nice!
Heh I just found out that my R3BE has better Marvell SATA3 controller than regular R3E.
Dual PCIe lanes compared to R3E's one. Someone had got up to 780MB/s speeds with dual Force GTs. Well damn I wish I had realised this before.
