The 6600 256MB DDR2 can certainly be overclocked to near GT speeds, even on the memory. 256MB is definitely needed these days for modern games, so I'd say it's a better deal than the 6600GT.

unfortunately, he exceeded his image hosting BW for the day, and all of his images do not show... also, his system is ok, but it no power house, so I think it's holding his cards back... he only got a 12.5k on 3Dmark05... prolly some tuning and maybe new drivers might help.. but I think his FX53 @ 2.58ghz is just not powerful enough to really let those cards fully open up... perhaps one of the new Nforce4 16x mobos would help also.. hrm...

All the shop owners said it will take a month before they will get them......so yea, limited availability is true...
If anyone doesn't know what Sim Lim Square is....that's the place of the nVIDIA shop competition...the whole warehouse is nVidia....I'm shocked.

Now this doesn't necessarily means that the cards won't be there for purchasing online....I just thought that it was very odd that Sim Lim Square doesn't have one card....he visited many shops, they even called the distributor.....same reply everywhere...
The Leadtek distributor said that it will be available today. Ask your dad to go to Fuwell or Cybermind in Sim Lim Square to try and find the card :)Quote:

hmm well the first review compares it to a 6600gt 256mb which is rare! and the second review shows it faster or even but pretty much a tie but they do not show the battlefield 2 results where the fps difference is huge.Quote:

Here is was my 7800 GTX 512MB cards did. Reviews are going up so I should be OK to post this. I will have pictures of the cards without HSF shortly.
Here is my 3dmark05 score. Both cards with stock HSF. A 120MM fan blowing on them. (The 1st card gets very hot do to the lack of space on the SLI-DR.) The CPU is a FX57 @3GHz 250FSB, DDR500 2GB of RAM. I would publish this but the driver I am using is not FM approved yet. The system also broke 10K single card.

I'm not impressesed. I just saw the price of these units at Tigerdirect.ca and there asking $1000.00 Canadian.
This is way that I look at it.
If you have the money it's still a waste for such small improvements, in comparison to the ATI's or just the stand alone 7800gtx 256.
If you don't have the money but still intend to buy it at that price, then you should commit yourself to the local nut house.
No one should support these nut heads for coming out with these cards at those prices.
I guess XTREME is no longer a welcoming home for me if I'm the only one who thinks like at this level.
