lol, i just thought of something. If AMD has indeed speed binned these chips so you can't OC them more the 200 mhz, the prices for the remaining Winchesters will skyrocket! lol, o the irony

Speed binning happens all the time and many many chips are done that way, but it's not going to be nearly as bad as you say. Most chips are at their speed bin within a certain margin and many more can go a lot higher.Quote:

If the 3200+ venice costs less then $200, or $200, then I willg et it. Otherwise, its a 3000+ for me!
Monarch still has no pre-order!
If the Venice turns out to be a turd I will NEVER, EVER, even consider changing over to AMD again. :cussing: :flame: :fart:
so, anyone believe venice will come out on the 15th?
I wish I did, but with all the lies/rumors and misinformation floating around, I'm not holding my breath.Quote:

whatever happened to Vandi423? haven't heard from him. i hope he can hook us up with some Venices. the 15th seems so long away :).
lol, yeah, I can't wait till the 15th. I also hear the 18th might be the actual relese date, not 15th, but who knows?
AMD was supposed to get back to me today but they never did. Looks like they're not interested in selling chips....
I will call them tomorrow and see what happens. From what I can tell the 15/18th looks very promising.
Could someone post the link to that little table that had all the new ADA codes for the different chips?
I'll type out the list
Venice 512k L2 Cache
San Diego 1mb L2 Cache
ada3000bpbox - Venice 3000+
ada3200bpbox - Venice 3200+
ada3500bpbox - Venice 3500+
ada3800bpbox - Venice 3800+
ada3500bnbox - San Diego 3500+
ada3700bnbox - San Diego 3700+
ada4000bnbox - San Diego 4000+
These are all PIB part numbers, for OEM parts use adaXXXXdaa4bp for Venice, adaXXXXdaa5bn for San Diego (not very many OEM part numbers showing up yet, so that isn't a 100% guaranteed forumla, but that's what they SHOULD be)
I'm aiming at the San Diego 3500. The 1MB might make a big difference. Which one you guys are thinking of getting?
Ok first of all where does it says the 3500 sandy will have 1Mb cache? I'm thinking it will be like the 512k clawhammers.
I also think the sandiego 3500 will have 512kb cache. Try a froogle search with ada3500daa4bn. You will find 8 or 9 results. Search for ada3500daa5bn and no results are found. 4BN=512kb. 5BN=1mb.Quote:

I don't see them having a 3500+ 1mb and 512k version either...
/shrug idk
aiming at the 3700+ personally if it tests out well this week I'll order everything for my new build Friday (payday)
it's quite possible, considering the 3500+ clawhammer. go amd for having 5 different cores with the same specs :toast:Quote:

I wish newegg or monarch or zzf put up pre-order for the Venice. That way when they get the chips, they can ship it out right away so i can have it by mid-week next week. looks like the 18th is when everyone will have venice in stock. at what price will everyone be willing to buy the cpu? I think 210$ is my cutoff point for the 3200+ model. If it costs more than that, i'll get the 3000+ instead.
Vandi423,
I hope you'll have some good news for us bro :). Tell AMD how many people are interested on the Venice. hopefully they'll realize it and let you order some :).
I have already got my 3200 preordered in the US here: :woot:
