Strange cpu's these when it comes to temperatures.
I was running 2.5Ghz & 1.475v and the cpu was 48°C idle and about 58°C load.
Right now I'm running 2.6Ghz & 1.45v and the cpu runs 41-42°C idle and a 49-50°C load.
I don't get it...

ha, What are you using to measure Temps? BIOS?
Speedfan 4.22
Yeah, which VX did you buy?Quote:

CBBID- 0501-EPMW

Can someOne, to confirm me, that I have a good CPU model ?
I' already have a 3500+ 0.13µ Newcastle
ADA3500DEP4AW
CBAXC 0436WPMW
but I wanted to try out the winchester, because alot of people told me that the Winchester is better than the Newcastle you can hit with the high fréquency more easier and there's less heat. I like to make sure I got the good CPU stepping, befort I take it out of his Box and test it :slobber:
Not to be rude, but... this thread is about the only 3500+ that's neither a Winchester nor a Newcastle which are the ones you have. You might be better off searching for a more appropriate thread to post your results on. :stick:Quote:

So I'd say if you get lucky and get a good Clawhammer you can surpass a good Winchester. But if you get a bad Clawhammer you'd do above average for a Winchester but you'd be running hotter and probably using more energy to run it at that speed.Quote:

Make that 2.5ghz on stock volts. :) Nice chip I've got here.
With the 80mm fan Smartguardian says i'm around 38-39C idle and i'm topping out around 60-61C in Prime95. Its reporting around 1.58V vCore.Quote:

Can any of you with the DFI Ultra-D board give me any tips for overclocking this chip?
I managed to get to 2.5GHz at 1.43 V recently after some burn-in. :cool:Quote:

Before I removed the ihs my max speed was just over 2.7 and max temps of 55c. I'll post a pic as soon as I get done with super pi 32m. I've done 1m through 32m back to back to test stabilty.
Interesting... I wonder if your results are isolated or typical of these CPUs. Looks like you got a great CPU though if you can do 2800 at 1.55V on air!Quote:

The stepping is 0505 DPMW. A few days ago I did the power supply sense mod on my 3.3v and 5v rails and that helped the computer in stabilty

It's killing me not being able to run my machine. Still need Ram, PSU and HD...grrr PArt Time job paychecks BLOW
hi guys,
it is by passing super pi 32m system is consider stable for ram & cpu
This stuff sure NEEDS the VDIMM to run tight timings.Quote:

if you cant go up go down :P, how low will it run at 2.6 w/?
