He has an saasc. My retail is caabc. I wonder what the difference is?
I tried 280X10, but no go. :(
UPDATE on the A8V Vddr mod..........
I had thought that lowering the resistance across R422 would raise DDR Voltage, but NOOOO. I penciled across R422 and the DDR Voltage dropped from default 2.88V to 2.82V. So it looks like the resistor DOES need to be lifted and replace with VR. If I had some DDR that worked, I would do the mod today!

look'n good. Im starting to get impatient wait'n for my v5. I figured up a ghetto AC duct with cad about a hour ago while i was bored at work and a dual duct system i may actualy make up nice to feed AC into my v5 rads. I may try the ghetto duct tonite and see if i can get 240x11 1:1 to 3dmark. Hopefully i'll also be able to puch 460/400 on my 9800xt with all that cold air. 26k all air with a r360 card would be nice.
oinnnkkk
oinnnkkk
oinnnkk...........
the Vddr mod WORKS, guys...........
HAve you got any close up pictures there CHARLIE? Nice oc btw. :)
Oh my............
tee heee........
You guys are NOT gonna believe how the mem OC's on this bad boy!!!!
C
CHARLIE are you using your PC3000 bh-5? Tell us how it clocks.......:slobber:
burn baby burn? :D
what ram the pc3000 charlie?
i thought you where stuck wiht a 5:3 ratio or other??
but yeah we would like to se what the jedi can do :)
Well..........
KHX3000 of course is still no go........... I need to have my sticks re-programmed to PC3200..........
But I have one stick of PC3700 BH-6 laying around....
3.11v
253mHz............
Can't make a piccie, now that rig has corrupt o/s and I cant load Windows...........will try "r"
put the spd chip from the pc3700 stick on the pc3000 stick? ;)
Would this help instead of the vdimm mod ;)
Charlie you need a heatgun, pull off the spd chip and replace it with another or try without one..it may get you what you need.
failing that you need a ram manufacturer to reprogram it for you.
where's the SPD chip ???
and YES!!! That toy will certainly be in every one of my rigs!
ok.........o/s repaired.
Its the little 8-legged thing on one of the top corners usually.
OK why don't you put up a step by step guide with some hi res pics. Now you have made the mod tempting. Prepare for a soddering nightmare. ;)
wow! that was easy.......
too bad it didn't work :(
with no SPD chip, NO POST. And even if I replace SPD chips, I only have 1 x 3700 chip :(
Would love to, but I dont have the proper equipment to test the results..
EDIT
Darn charlie.. looks like it will be replace chips or get them reprogrammed only..
I guess the next best alternative is to buy 2 x cheep PC3200 ram and steal their SPD chips.......and resolder them onto my PC3000.
Cheaper than buying NEW BH-5.
Kingston ValueRam $46/stick for PC3200..........
What info is on the SPD chip? Info about timings or anything or just JEDEC value and mfg. name?
Charlie, are we sure that the L124 vdim mod doesn't work if we use pin 11 to ground like Kyoshen did? I only tried with ground to MB screw.
I never tried it........Quote:

I just ran a simple test:
I removed r422 with solder wick, no prob.
I tinned the pads lightly.
I set a 10K ohm VR to 2.15Kohm
I soldered the VR to the pads, no additional fixed resistor....
Increase resistance to increase Vddr
If i get bored maybe I'll try it the fancy way with a second resistor.
EDIT: Seems that if I adjust the Vddr at 3.13V+, my desktop just LOCKS UP!

charlie why not just send the modules to bigtoe and have him reprogram them. im sure they have the equiment ;)
