hehe... that is a... "nice case" :)) hey, as long as it works; the case doesn't give any performance. My case is a Chieftec CH-02SL-SLM. The motherboard doesn't fit in right, and I had to mod the case to get it worked out.
Ok, so far... I just got it up and running, but with no video at all. Above it says that those boards don't like nVidia cards. Well, I only have a Quadro FX3500 and FX5500. So, an ATI x600 should work? Thanks.

Yeah that's what I have in mine. It likes it well enough.

Could also try any random PCI cards you may have lying around just to see what happens.

Oh Sparky you know I hold your cardboard box -I mean case- in the highest regard! :)

I've also tried an ATI x300, geforce 210 (didn't work), but settled on a cheapo ATI rage pci card from Compusa/tigerdirect.

I've also tried a GeForce 210 (didn't work). I just ordered an ATI x600. I should get it soon.

Anyone ordered a replacement bios? Does it work? I want to put my machine back online but last time I messed too much with bios settings (ram speed, numa setting) and it won't post, and can't reset bios.

Today I've tried an ATI x300 and didn't work. So, I guess my only option right now is to go for a ATI x600.

I did the same thing with my board. I found this guy on eBay and he did a great job. He flashed 2 bios chips for me that I sent him. A lot of guys didn't want to flash the chip because it is an oddball chip very rare to be used for bios chip. So anyway this guy has his own website and goes between Canada and Poland. I think he might be still in Canada for now. He did a great job and was extremely reasonable ($10).

and by the way thanks to all the contributors to this project. It has been invaluable in getting this set up. The boards are a little flakey as others have said.

I wish. No I just sent him the known good existing bios files. I don't think implementing full ACPI is all that easy, although on another site there was a guy who edited people's Rioworks Arima ACPI. Maybe I will try to find the link and ask him about it. He seemed to know what the hell he was doing (not just talking a good game). Maybe we could throw him a few bucks for the effort.

I'm having the exact same problem as you are. no hdd/dvd plugged in, all 4 8360se's in the motherboard, using a radeon 4850, everything powers up except no beep, no display, and the two lights (3,4) lit up... weird acting board for sure!

I'm not 100% ceretain but every board I've ever seen uses a non-rechargable battery. Every recent board I've seen uses a CR2032 for the CMOS battery which is a 3v Lithium battery. If it's too dead it might, maybe, prevent the board from POSTing but leaving the power on won't charge it.

I only said I wasn't certain because there is a chance that the board uses a capacitor instead of a battery. I haven't seen one like that in a loooooooooong time ... but considering I haven't played with an Arima board personally, it's at least theoretically possible.

I am using successfully the asus nvidia 9800 and the sapphire 4850x2 with great success.please note tha these gpu are pci-e 2.0.note that i currently use bios 1.0.4 and since upgrade from 0.9.6 i lost compatibility with the ati x700,ati r1650,
pci mayrox g550,rafeon 7500 pci .you can hotflash your bios chip with flashrom.details and bios images can be found in my previous posts.special concern should be given in memory modules.
