Here are my stock results. Keep in mind, PhysX was enabled but attached to a GTX 260. I'll run again with it disabled but tend to keep it enabled for Vantage.

I'm curious about the posts above indicating flashing the BIOS. I'll have to read more about that. What tool does everyone use to OC the cards? What if we use different brands? I have a Gigabyte and an MSI 470.
Anyone have Tri-SLI on 470's yet?
Use nvflash for flashing. Most popular OC tool right now is MSI Afterburner. You can use different brands, but it's usually the best to flash them all to same BIOS.Quote:

Finally got my GTX470 from Asus.
It runs very hot on load, about 90c and 47c when in idle. Dual monitor temps are about 75c! I changed the thermal paste from that sloppy job to some AC MX-2 and got 2 or 3c back.
I was able to reduce dual monitor temps by reducing memory clocks to 209mhz using nvidia inspector. Temps are about 55c now.

I would set the fan speed to 70% as you will see even cooler temps, I'm idling at 40C with fan speed set to 70%. You will need a program like Afterburner so that when your computer first starts the fan speed will automatically go to 70%.Quote:

I haven't begun overclocking the CPU or cards yet - this is all stock. I see some folks getting above this with SLI 470's. Am I CPU bound with the X6 1055T? Would moving to an Intel i7 make that big of a difference?

RE3
980x @ 4.138Ghz
2 x Asus GTX470 at stock speeds
2 x Intel 80Gb G1 SSD in RAID 0
Enermax Revolution 950 PSU
Cooling is:
CPU is water cooled
GTX470's are water cooled by a Koolance GPU-220 GPU only block with the stock sink for the memory and VRM's. My temps never exceed 42c under load.
I haven't done any bios flashing on these cards and as I stated before I uninstalled the drivers, used clean sweeper to clean them off the system and then reinstalled the drivers.
Any ideas would be helpful. On a side note, I did have an issue with my system not wanting to boot at my overclock settings the other day, left it alone over night and everything went back to normal. Not sure what is going on, it's like I have gremlins in the system messing with everything.
