Wow, quite a few posts since I last checked this thread.
jonathankru: Excellent! - nice job with the acrylic material.
Boogerlad: Very nice job with the materials. Have you tried the HDRI file I posted for your lighting? I'm still looking for some time to handle your requests regarding the tutorial - sorry can't really give an ETA on it, busy week/month.
emir: Awesome design job with the CPU and GPU blocks - really liking the sharp angles on the Perf-G
Laine: Slick looking barbs. Internal 3DS Max render engine?
Mick64: Wonderful render as usual - nice choice of colors (My university's colors as well (Oregon State Beavers)). New HDRI lighting environment I'm guessing? Also any chances of seeing new, non-case renders from you? :)
I've been busy with finishing up school, part-time work and doing some behind-the-scenes work with Charles :sofa:
Please excuse the double post...
Xtreme 3D Modelers and Renderers
I've created a new public group for those who wish to discuss topics related to 3D modeling and rendering. I hope in the end, that this thread will be dedicated to being more of a gallery with help and such being held in the user group :).
Hey QQHeaD, nice to see a new face on the forums. Great job with the renders, that second one looks oddly familiar though - please don't take offense, but it would be nice to have some credit if you decide to 'copy/reference' my renders, thanks :)
Metric I was impressed your chipset block and made a stab similar)). Sorry for my English.
newest render! Copper is broken for some unknown reason though.

Hey metric, what copper material are you using?
Ah, no problems and your english is fine :). You got a PM from me as well.
I'm just using the supplied Copper IOR. Just run the Material's Wizard and select Complex IOR for the type and browse to the already supplied Copper material. You can then set roughness and bumpmaps to your preference.
Thanks metric! I'll be sure to have better renders soon. I'm a disgrace to the gallery. Can you post the .mxm? I've been playing with the bump and roughness values for hours and can't get it right. I want the brushed copper in you nb wb please?
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=433 second pic.
I'm not quite sure what to do with the hdri's. Where do I put them in maxwell studio?
emir - thanks :) By the way - could you show us some exploded views of your waterblocks? They're hiding some interesting stuff :p:
Metric & Boogerlad thank you very much :)
Koen in a few days i can ;)
My first try on Maxwell. It took 1.5 hours on my cheesy PC. I need a good POM material and some lightening lessons.

tried to use this pom material? http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/...search=polymer Really nice render. tbh, you have far better lighting and copper materials then me. What copper material did you choose? I'm still waiting for metric to post a link to the mxm of his brushed copper material.
It's the copper that Metric share in the topic. But i need his POM material too :p:
I've used the one that you gave the link, but still didn't like the result. Maybe the problems are scene and the lights...

Been out the game for a little while, which seems ages. But i have some concept items non rendered (straight sketch up) as i don't have much free time. I would like your comments on the design An renders to follow once i make some more progress on them.

Some nice works there guys, keep up with the good job
Here's something I've had in my mind for quite some time. Standard d5/mcp655 (and every other pump for computers) has got this cheap, toyish look which I don't like, so I decided to make some sort of industrial-bling mod for this pump :D
Unfortunately I have no time to render it correctly so here are just some snapshots straight from my cad software:

What cool font do you guys use to add after the render?
Excuse the double post, but...
My latest render! I finally fixed the lighting, materials and blurriness issues. I'd say that it's perfect now. (maybe except for the brushed copper. Too brushed imo)

Boogerlad: Great to see you fixed your blurriness issue. Can't wait to see the final render :)
Laine: Ah, thanks for the clarification. If you need something rendered, just send me a PM.
Back to basics :)
