Can't say I did the yellow/black mix all that much. Makes it look too much like an unsleeved cable.

The coloured sleeves from MDPC-X are very nice however what bugs me is despite all the exhibition going on, they are still not available on the US or Euro sites. Only on the MDPC-X german site.
Whats going on?
sleeving of a new air to the case more here in Brazil, we have no meters for sale in packages with only small amounts, it is a pity as the case makes much more organized and beautiful!
hey has anyone heard bought nils new white sleeving or his new international site ???
im trying to decide between white and red or black and red (in a black case)
thanks for any opinions and great sleeving guide
I tried using these to crimp the pins for the 24 pin connector

Turns out, not really the right tool. That thing is more suited to stereo and automotive wiring then computers. I read people saying you can crimp with just pliers and maybe so, but me crimping with just pliers is hit..usually miss on a good strong crimp and always ugly. Finally figured out I shoulda bought this when I got all my sleeving, heatshrink and pins/pin removers

I'd look at the factory made crimp and wnder how they got it to lock down like that. I thought I had to rotate the thing as I crimped lol. Made two ugly, probably easily pulled apart crimps and thought there has gotta be an easier way. Then I looked at different crimps and this picture explained everything

Thanks for the note, I was just about to get the same yellow one from ppcs to save a few bucks, but I guess I'll spring for one of the other ones if it makes better connections. An extra $10-$15 is worth not having to deal with finicky tools.
I know several people have used hairdryers to shrink the tubes, but I was wondering if hairdryers really work as well as heat guns? I'd rather get a cheap heat gun if I'm just going to have to re-shrink the tubes after a few months.
Yep ... those blue crimpers work fine.
I find a heatgun works better than the hairdryer - but the heatgun works best for me. If you're doing black, a lighter also works quite well, but you have to make sure you get the heatshrink in the low end of the flame ... not always easy if you have a bunch of other wires nearby.
Anyone know when Murdermod will be getting more sleeving kits in?
Very soon Jake! Sit tight ;)
anyone have pics of a EVGA X58 board with dual sleeved 8pin AUX connectors?
Not sure if this is what you're looking for - a pic of my 8-pin connector on the EVGA X58 board, with two wires per sleeve. Sorry I don't have a better pic, it's in an area of the case that's hard to photograph:

Two wires per sleeve works okay for the 8-pin, but I wasn't happy with 2 per sleeve on the 24-pin.
only the EVGA classified has 2 x 8 pin connectors
iv unisleeved the cables on my classified build (and am using both 8 pin connectors) and basically it just looks like another 24pin bundle...
so look at any of the 100000 pics of unisleeved 24 pin connectors.... take away a few cables and it looks like that :p:
if murderbox started making the murdermod weaved Black with red tracer (aka uptown red) I'd switch from using the regular stuff, I happen to really like the black red tracer stuff, adds a bit of flair to the look, without being overly flashy,
im at work at the moment and these are the only pictures i have online at the moment that show my sleeving

Thanks for the guide :) now I can finally clean my vinyard :)
:( another 2 to 3 weeks on MurderMod sleeving to come to US. Can we buy it from Europe and have it shipped international to beat the wait?
do you guys know what color both mdpc-x sleeving red and blue look like since murderMods is offering them?
Do you guys use heavy duty staples to get pins out? I have been trying with a old psu with regular staples just doesnt work
use 2 regular staples attached to each other. use 2 it works great. I tried using one and I could not get the PSU connectors off for the life of me. Good luck.
Re the color of the blue sleeving ... the MDPC-X sleeving is aquamarine ... it's pretty, but it's not a dark or royal blue if that's what you're looking for.
I used staples my first time ... actually found the smaller sized staples worked best (also put two together). They worked, but it just about killed me getting it done. Since then, I've switched to this little $5 tool -

If you go this route, you definitely need to order a few spares, because you will break one or two early on. The key is doing your work in a well-lit room so you can see that you are getting the prongs in between the sides and the pin.
my spaghetti is back muhahahaha
