1.40v should be fine. I won't take mine past 1.40v, but many people say 1.45v is OK. There really is no guaranteed "safe" voltage, it's not possible to put a number on it. Intel state 1.3625 as an absolute max.

Nice one !
Here is my 24/7 on AIR. Q820A405. I know a lot of you will say this is too much voltage and heat for 24/7 use.... but we'll see. 1.44 in bios, 1.46v windows. Max temp during 19hours of small FFT was 76c. During gaming i may hit 55c tops. Idle at low to mid 30s.

Ive found that everest v4.60 now shows both core temps and core 2 is now unstuck there is only occt and everest v4.50 that show the core as stuck....
Anyone else had this???

Lots of things could have been optimised, but my p5e3 Premium got condensation, and I prefered to stop... I wish another ln2 session comes asap ;)
http://members.shaw.ca/wenpigsfly/smileys/thumb.gif Nice one ToyTen. Your GPU can be run at 850/950 when benching Aquamark, it should run at that fairly easy for such a short run.
Impresive stuff ToyTen mate! Also Venom-Crusher, you have a chip to die for, most excellent on plain watercooling!! :toast:

Problem is in motherboard (having stability issues over 415FSB, because I got error in superPI at 16round when was between 5550 and 5700mhz...) Must get a new mobo...

Batch Q820A405 packdate 07/17/2008.Lapped TRUE with push n pull Yateloons 77CFM each idle temps of 48 to 51c. Load of 67c Why are my temps so high.Bios is set to 1.285v and it has a VID of 1.165v
Low vid chips usually run hotter. I'm sure you've checked the seating? Otherwise, reseat the cooler and make sure there is good contact; also, is the ihs concave, convex?
zucker is right like the e8500s the ones that take low volts to run high cpu speed run hot
i want to get the e8600, but dont know what the best mb is to get?
i wont be running SLI, any recommendations? i wanna OC!!
Get the new p45 mobo from Gigabyte, the UD3P, cheap and fast.
So true!
I got nice example just running here :D
My Q9550 whit vid 1.2500, not best vid that you can get but woah, it runs nice cool, to get over 70c i needed 1.41V and Intelburner Whit maxium ram test
Stock voltage and 3.4Ghz, in idle it went to 27c whit 23c ambient :D
Well, I just sold my E8500 ($150) and ordered the E8600 from Newegg. Hopefully, I will get a good batch....
The old E8500 was not to shabby.

does anyone know if there will be a higher binned dual core than e8600 later on? perhaps e8700?
Any idea on Q820A4x4 with 11 being the last 2 number from wafer code??
Q823A234, not really a steller performer, at least not was I was hoping for, picked this up at Newegg. I'm gonna exchange it and see if I get lucky. I thought I might have some stability at this speed, but after 16minutes of Orthos, it restarted my comp. Maybe its my mobo, my board doesnt officially support the E0s yet.
