Ace-a-Rue, Ace-a-Rue!
Thanks for starting this thread. It is good to have another resource available for exploring its overclocking potential. I purchased my TPower around a week or so before you and I've spent alot of time overclocking it. I've been lurking here for quite sometime and I've also wanted to post but I had some diffulculties joining Xtreme Systems. I want to thank HousERat for pointing me in the right direction. I started with an E8400 and OCZ Reaper PC2-1066 (2x2gb) and have moved on to an E8600 and OCZ Reaper PC2-9200 (2x1GB). I also now have 2 sticks of 1gb Kingston HyperX PC2-9200 (spec 2.3v) and I'm expecting 2 sticks of 1gb Patriot Viper Extreme PC2-9600 (spec 2.3v) on Monday. Having compatible highspeed memory is important to achieving good overclocks and I hope the Patriots mesh nicely with one of the 4 RCOMPS. I'm looking forward to participating here.
Offthread: Since I had an extra E8400 available I just purchased a Biostar TP45 HP this week from NewEgg ($100). It has a very similar feature set to the TPower but it is a completely different circuit board and I think a less sophisticated power regulation design. Today I've got it running at 7x575 1/1 with OCZ PC2-9200... not too bad for a relatively low-cost board!

WELCOME PolRoger!:up:
i have bios shots for my 9650 and E8500 on the first page of this thread...the settings for 9650 were good for one hour of Prime 95...it should give you a good starting point...i was experimenting with GSkill PC6400 and Corsair Dominators PC 9136...the bios images were using PC6400 2 x 2gb.
not bad for TP45 HP board for $100 smackers;)...can you run and complete a Super PI 32M at 575 FSB?
ok, bios booted at 3.99 but failed windows as soon as it showed. just booted into windows at 3.91 and the same setting (litterally) as your qx settings.
i am dying to hit 4.0 as most 9550 i read will do it. Im on water as it says in my sp and my temps are pretty low.
what should i do?
edit: running occt now.
edit 2: failed after 3 min, didn't crash just failed.
@Ace-a-Rue - Re:TP45 HP 32M superpi completed in 12m 8.235s at 575fsb.
Here is my first 600fsb overclock with my TPower. It is bootable to windows. I had to relax the memory timings a little because I didn't want to go over 2.272v on my OCZ PC2-9200. Maybe with some other higher voltage sticks I could do better.

hey gys,
my i45 arrives nxt week. im looking at grabbing some ram for it.
any opinions on these - http://www.mtechcomputers.com.au/pro...oducts_id=4765
i am hopeing to get 1200 mhz .
if not whats a good set for this board?
@adya
My OCZ Reaper PC2-9200 will run 1150 at around 2.1v and 1200 with 2.272v they seem to work well with the bios setting RCOMP 2. I have the newer lower volt revision which I think has different IC from the older 2.3v sticks. Your choice could run well but one never knows until you actually try them.
i currently have those same sticks and i got to say that i'm little bit disappointed with mine.. atleast mine aren't great clockers at all so i would recommend you to get something else.. mine did around 630mhz (or 1260 mhz) with the stock latencies :( i've tested em with 4 different boards and haven't been able get em higher. in some review they have been able to get those sicks to 660mhz
For a system running default, is this board stable?
Is it better than ASUS P45?
I have a P5Q-E and I don't like it at all, so I'm thinking in trading it for this one. Am I doing a good choice?
anyone noticed this ?
when you set cpu +200 in the volt options that volt actually drops to 1.180+-
when i set +250 its fine but thats like 2.440v wich is a bit much.
is 1.48-1.5 to much for a Q9550?
I do not have one, but my E8600 seems ok under water with those voltages. You have water so..........:up:
Over 5GHz
