Anyone got any tips on how to recover from a bad bios flash tried the "crash free" route but it doesn't even seem to get that far just sat there with a blank screen.

Ok guys as no one has any ides ive decied to start looking for a new mobo. (note use the method described to flash the bios to a earlier revision in this forum with extreme care.... lol ya as i found, there is a much safer method which i found out later that doesn't run the same high risk of frying your bios).
Anyway back to the new mobo.
1 wifi would be nice but could be limiting
2 needs to be x38 or 48 chipset (i want crossfire at x16 times)
3 is now the right time to wait for x58 and go for the big upgrade ?????
I have 3 mobo's in mind i'll see if your advice is the same but i'm very tempted to just ride the strom and wait for core i7
Thanks
Is anyone in here using OCZ 1600mhz ram, 8GB, of this variety by chance?
ocz3g16004gk
I cant seem to find anyone using this exact chip (searches on this thread turned up nothing).. particularly 8GB... I've had some issues even getting it stable at 1333 on this board, though i think i've found settings that work. I never could get it to work at 1600mhz though (or at least, get past a boot of either boot Live CDs or vista booting off the harddrive)..
Thanks
Hi guys ..long time to hear something on this thread..whats up..?;)
Any other new info about the mobo and the updates will be welcome..
1405 bios is out..any news ..?
I almost bought this board but got the P5K3 DLX/WIFI cuz I heard it clocks better is that true?? should I still pick this board up?
BIOS 1409

I checked and everything seems to work okay but I disabled my express gate a long time ago... I've had problems with it since the beginning... This version works better with my CPU/MEM combo...
Thanks malk, i've been also to 1409 ..no issues..
Now a simple question...
Has somebody tried this mobo with the new DDR3 low voltage Ram..? ..right now i have 6gb total and would like to go for 8 gb but with the low voltage modules ..
I have found this but will not be available until end of April..

Any input would be helpful ..
I am running q9650 at 4 GHz and v core of 1.42v in BIOS and CPU-z shows 1.4v on idle. prime 95 stable. I'm a bit worried about running the v core at 1.42v. Do you think it's safe? I tried to use load line calibration but it won't boot into Windows over 3.6 GHz. If anyone is running the same processor i would unappreciated if they could post their BIOS settings so I can see what I'm doing wrong. On other forums people are getting 4 GHz at lower voltages. please help:help:
Voltages will differ... Maybe your one of the unlucky ones… Bad batch…. Also different mother boards require slightly more or less voltage… Only use other members settings as a guide…
Hi Markm
Yep I am running that here.
But on the P5E3 standard (not the deluxe board), I am using BIOS 1502 BETA
ASUS themselves provided me with settings they used on the exact same RAM.
CL6, 8 8 24 @ DDR3 1333Mhz @ 1.88V for the DRAM and 1.37V for the NB
Please see ASUS' screenshots.

These settings were provided to me from ASUS and they work perfectly with 8GB of RAM. I can pass Intel Burn Test 14tests MAXIMUM STRESS as well as OCCT 3.0.1.0 2hr auto.
I have not tried raising my FSB over the standard 333Mhz, but I can raise my multiplier and the system is still stable. FYI you will not be able to get 1600Mhz out of 8GB, I believe this a chipset limitation as 8GB does put a lot of stress on the X38, I have heard the situation is pretty much the same with the X48, (although some folks do seem to have luck on their BlackOps and Rampage Extreme boards) albeit with high voltages and lots of cooling

Hey. Can anyone recommend me a RAM upgrade for this board? I want to get 8GB. Stability with Prime95 is my main concern - but fast is good too :)
Current processor is E6750 but plan to get a Q9650.
Muskin or Crucial works well with the P5E3 and if you're having problems with your settings - Muskin has great customer support / forums... Hope this helps...
Hi!
Need help.
With Q8200 (Rev. M1), how best settings to my wataerooled system:
- Corsair HX620W
- Asus P5E3 Deluxe WiFi AP@N
- Quad Q8200 Rev. M1
- 4GB Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz Corsair DHX XMS3
- XFX GTS250 1GB Core Edition
- 1x Seagate 1TB 32MB
All in GMC Corona R3 Watercooled. See worklog here: http://www.casemodbr.com/forum/gmc-r...ed-t48685.html
Thanks in advance!
this board is a PITA! 2X2GB I get random bsods suring overclocking unless I run it at 400X9 for 1600MHZ but if I try a different divider and run it even under 1600mhz with higer fsb bsod! also the voltage sattings are incorrect. 1.38XX in bios get me 1.35 in cpu-z that .03 vdrop and it gets closer to .04 with higer voltage settings. even with LLC enabled. and whats the purpose of over charging voltage?? to annoy me?!?!? ughhhh. its an ok board but serious problems and now with X58 asus more than likely will not fix them
I just pulled this board out of my closet and powered it up with a new Qx9650..... Any good / recommended Bio's Updates? Seems to work great with the new low voltage RAM....
Not really sure, i have one of these in use with a Q6600, and one about to be put into use with a QX9770 water cooled, here's my CPUz screenshots of the one currently in use, specs below the shots, I also have Expressgate running fine, dual monitor setup and with AHCI enabled on both onboard chipsets.

Note: i have speed step etc enabled, and when idle the the core voltage will drop down to about 1.200

I do know to get the latest ExpressGate you have to grab 2 files, one to get the DFI file, and the other to get the latest updater (which is packed with an older DFI file) the whole ftp site is a mess (and their are 2) with no one using the same naming convention, so it is a complete nightmare working out whats what, and which you need .... and no, the ftp is no faster than it used to be, it's painful, like dialup speeds !
This link is also pretty handy for the latest files and info

The other thing i only found out a couple of days ago, is that the manual supplied actually had the RAM slot allocation table miss printed ! and for 2 sticks of ram it was saying to use the wrong two slots ! ... get the latest downloadable manual to get the correct info !
I'd be interested if anyone has tried this RAM with it, as i'm tempted to try some with the QX9770
