I'm pissed now and I do think Memtest is totally BS... I did 300% Memtest at 2,1V and after 20 min of CoD4, my system frozen because of the memory...
How do you know it's the memory, memory errors most often shows with BSOD, freezes are 90% CPU problems.
In my opinion, system freezes could also be a sign of an unstalbe Northbridge. At least that's what I learned when fighting with the Striker Extreme... :D
Passing P95 isn't the end of all tests... ;)
I agree with the above mentioned. It could be a cpu or nb prob.
BTW what's all these madness about running with low voltage? C'mon guys 2.3v isn't much. Are u going to keep them for 2 years...? :p:
I raised my NB voltage a bit and everything seems fine now :) Thanks!
HEy guys
I had a pair of Crucial Ballistix Tracers Pc 8500, the one stick Died so im getting a pair of Crucial Ballistix (Yellow Pair) PC6400 tomorrow
What i need to know is how do these compare to my old Tracers.
These are what i quote from the guy im gettin them from here in South Africa.Quote:
Over and above my Memory Special, I have to make a space for these awesome sticks for only R1299.00 per set.
IMO the best overclocking DDR2 memory (besides the Tracers that clock slightly better) money can buy as they scale incredibly well to voltage. Just ask some of the worlds top overclockers.
Crucial Ballistix 2GB kit (2x1GB) PC6400 (DDR800) 4-4-4-12 (BL2KIT12864AA804) - R1299.00
i would only buy 8500 rated sticks
you can but 6400 but you n your luck
i got a pair of 6400 tracers wich suk
i got a pair of value ram with d9gmh that are great2.26v 1200mhz
for a few more $ why take the risk
my new ballistix 8500 only need 2.13v for 1200+
my mushkin 8500 need 2.32v:(
Well lets just hope these sticks do well, otherwise im gonna tell the guy im not happy withn them. And i would like the 8500 seeing as i paid for the 8500 back when i got them. So hes gonna have it coming to him if these sticks suck.
Also becoz he had a pair of 6400 which he says are great, he better be right.
I still dont understand why he cant just give me the 8500, um also if i was to RMA my tracers i would have to wait like 2 weeks. Eish. And i would also have to pay for the rma shipping, how crap is that. Thats a reason why im taking the 6400
anybody mix tracers and non tracers? I have a pair of the regular ballistix, but can get tracers for cheap now. Both are 8500's
EMONERS,Quote:
well i'm running my Ballistix 24/7 at only 2.15v with these clocks with no fan: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=290350
nice to see you decided on the ballistix too. nice clocks bro... will post some of mine soon.
memories are not PC8500, but a bit nice yeah. But my PC8500 sticks can 600mhz 5-5-5-15 T2 at only 2,1 fulle stable on G33 chipset, but the bearlake also clocks memories very well I guess:cool:
Nice HF, just wanna show ppl what ive achieved, never tried doing this with my Tracers when i had them.
Planning to buy 2 GB of 8500 but what are the differences between :
BL2KIT12864AA1065 (92 €)
CT2KIT12864AA1067 (78 €)
Are the latest maybe newer revisions or new chips? I think both are non-tracers
I guess that the one that cost less is maybe "value ram"
BL are Ballistix and I believe the CT are not. dunno what ICs those use.
is there a minimal voltage the cpu or nb requires for the pc 8500 tracers to run at its stock speed?
It boots into windows no problem but when i open everest it freezes or bsod
Well, I had one stick die on me...was only running @ stock speed and timings @~ 2.17v :(
Not even a month old, I may just get a refund and go back to GSKILL. :shakes:
ANybody know how well unmatched sticks work in dual channel mode? I have one stick available to me and might just get a second, but I've always purchased matched sets for my machines.
Same timings same voltage, same stick to the PC. ;)
I got 2 sets of these on sale at NCIX for 63$ after rebate... heh I didn't even need new ram, but how can you pass up 63$ for 2gb of good ddr2?
