Yes I know, it needs paint. I'm working on that.
@Kyuusei are those bullet hole repairs in the door? haha
would be a pretty slick little car with some paint though
lol, I hope not. No, they're just high spots where I sanded through the primer and hit the bondo underneath when I was doing the bodywork.
Its okay mechanically, theres a small oil leak somewhere I'm having a helluva time tracking down and there is a fist sized hole in one of the frame rails from rust that I have yet to patch, but yeah its a pretty good ride for what it cost me.
Sweet, Sierras are badass. They imported them to the United States until 1989 but nobody bought them because they had a funny name and screwed up the marketing... :p:
The Merkur XR4Ti
http://media.motortopia.com/files/54...081305_109.jpg
I like them. The model was discontinued years ago but I'm pretty much an enthusiast and know my way around cars so yet, there's no problem for me owning a couple of them. The XR4Ti's have a turbocharged I4 engine and a crapload of options, while the European XR4i have a 2.8 V6 and alot less options.

How cheap are cars in the US or do you people just have huge loan burdens?
I believe that not every US citizen on this forum earn over 70 000$/year :D
The average American family:

There is probably no more relevant commercial for America of the 2000s...
cars in america are cheap as chips that tahoe is probably worth under 7K USD on the secondhand market by now in my country (australia) a similar vehicle would still be 15-20K
I need this for my STI. Nice drawings on the back of your car also.. they are correct in that Subaru is better :D
I bought my 04 Subaru STI for about 1/3 of the MSRP with 70k miles on it. A lot of people do buy cars they can't afford however.
Keep rocking the 240sx. I owned one in college and will be buying another soon as a project car. A 240sx isn't a 240sx if there isn't underbody rust and primer.
Currently driving a 1986 Mustang 5.0 coupe...quite a few mods done to it, nothing extravagant. Never winter driven, only ~135,000 KMs on the clock.

Thanks!
Off the top of my head, here are some mods:
- Edelbrock Performer RPM II Intake
- Edelbrock Performer aluminum cylinder heads (ported and polished a little)
- Ford Motorsport X303 Camshaft
- Stock bottom end with ARP rod and head bolts
- Rear-end completely redone with 31 spline Moser axles and 4:10 FMS gears and FMS girdle
- Full 2.5" exhaust with a BBK X-pipe, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers and 1 5/8" shorty headers
- Ford Racing Aluminum driveshaft
- NOS nitrous wet kit
- TwEECer tuned by myself
- Lakewood drag shocks and struts
- BBK frame connectors
- Innovate LC-1 wideband
There's more, but I can't remember all of it now lol. The interior was redone with reupholstered 85/86 GT seats and I found a factory Ford 140 MPH speedometer and factory Ford Premium Sound deck and threw them in. Not much done cosmetically except the hood and a lot of wax.
My current and first car

Could do with some bodywork
I'm on a 99 BMW 325 TDS Touring. Nothing special but it gets me to the places i need to go, has good room and is fairly cheap to maintain :)
Running a 93 camry for now. Had to sell the 328i. Was getting too expensive.
Man this thread is old.... I've gone through 2 cars and I'm on the third (and last for a good long time...wife gets to pick next)... Ecckkk....I can't believe I wanted one of those Grand Prix GXP things back then..... :p
@Kattivo... Nice Mustang.... good condition for a 25 year old car... :) Is the interior in good condition? :p:

Damn you Lybia, your crazy desire for freedom is costing me!

Just waiting to pick up my VW Lavidia 1.4TSI with 7 speed DSG box. Its works out about 95bhp/1000kg so should be an interesting family car. Top speed around 210km/h and 0-100km/h is 9 seconds. The Lavidia is only sold here in China but its a Mk5 Golf floor plan and drive train.
I don't want to imagine what my 2 year old son is going to do to the leather seats!
Just a 1994 Camaro. It rides smooth, fast enough to get into trouble, and people look as I drive even with the radio off.
yah, your looking at $57k for the base gt500 with racing buckets and $67k with the gt350 but the 350 had the upgraded suspension, an extra ~100HP or more depending if u want the warranty and it gets better gas millage so im sure it would pay for its difference with that. then it will have a higher resale value. but why is it not a larger number than 500, it makes over 500HP and its faster than the gt500.
i also like the looks of the eldelbrock supercharger kit on a gt. thats like $30k and then thats alot of money u could put into other stuff or just leave it since most people wont want a track car.
gt500 is still a beast though.
That's so wrong, the lower model number car is better than the higher model number car? So messed up.
:p:
True, especially when you compare the good old 350 and 500 back in the 60s, the 350 sucked in everything compared to 500:
http://www.carmemories.com/cgi-bin/v...perience_id=59
You wont find this under a GT350!
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_W...0/IMG_3699.JPG
The GT500 is ford factory produced. Its a hand built motor with a good history. The GT350 is still based on the coyote platform and is made in Las Vegas by Shelby. Its a car with more overall potential than the GT350, which is pretty much peaked as is. The 5.4L is basically a race motor. Fully forged internals and a hand built mill. Its costs over $21K as a crate motor. It shares a lot in common with the Ford GT powerplant. It is the same motor used in their Cobra Jet race mustangs and a many personal drag queens. Its commonly seen pushing 1000 bhp with the right supercharger. I am quite pleased with the purchase. Ford racing also offers a 625+ supercharger upgrade that retains the factory warrantee, or I could just got nuts and give it 850 bhp with the Shelby Super Snake package.

The motor even has a nameplate recognizing the engine builder. Thank you Brian Klepak, wherever you are :)

Nice. Thats funny how you too have the Scuby for weather and the ZR1 for pleasure. My winter ride is a Forester XT Cobb'd up to stage II.
so what your saying is that u can tune the 500 some more, so the stock is kinda misleading since the 350 is topped out. also i would guess that the new one is alot better since it dose not share parts with the trucks?
do u guys have family track day
Pretty much. For the street anything more than the stock 550hp seems silly as traction becomes a real issue through third gear. Those who like to track or drag their cars can easily modify them for more power, the 5.4L is more than capable.
If you can find a copy of Bill Cosby "200MPH" have a laugh at his one time drive in his Shelby 800bhp/200mph AC Cobra Supper Sanke. The car was hand built for Corsby by Shelby in 1966 and Crosby only drove it once before handing it back as he said it was to fast to live! Sometime to much power on the road is a bad thing.
Crosby had the punch line, asking if the car should be given to the then Alabama Governor George Wallace! Just had another listen, classic!
Nice Chinaguy.
Here is the link if anyone is interested.

Clean my loop as in my computer loop? Not too often probably break it down maybe every 6-8 months. And thank you my dad's car is absolutely scary to drive coming from a tuned STI's standpoint which is considered fast by most people. I have a lot of parts at home my dad wont let me install as of now :( He is a 30+ year ASE master tech and likes everything stock except all the cars he has built in the past....shifting from even 2nd-3rd in his car is terrifying explaining why I am the only other person to have driven his car
BTW in the grandpa pic that is a silver zr1 a black cts-v a red 08 Shelby gt500 on top of the lift and a black 08 z06 on the bottom. The z06 and Shelby both have < 2000 miles :D. All are manual except the cts-c that is my grandmas car. I am moving out there for an engineering internship this summer I cant wait

Looks like I am not a Ford man, 6.0L Turbo Diesel. Rather fun to drive. Miss my old Cummins though! I would kill to swap a 5.9L Common Rail Cummins into my truck!
ARP Headstuds and an EGR delete is the only thing a 6.0 needs to be a real screamer.
Referring to the ZR1..... as Jeremy Clarkson said when comparing it to "hand built" Ferrari engines....
"Well done fat man from Kentucky!"
hehehehe
Well, i don't technically own any, but the cars i have access to are an '05 RX-8, '04 2 door Blazer ZR-2 2WD(yeah, it's stupid, i know), and an '02 Accord.
that's me:up:
Smooth bodykit!:toast:
I would add some nice aluminium/carbon spoiler, it would be the dot on i and finish the racer look.

Hate big wings. Trying to keep it as clean as I can.:)
I agree. Wings would be dumb and pointless. That would create lift which is something you don't want when you're trying to grip the road.
the angle decides what direction the air force goes, so if u flip it over it will be lift they are made for down force (downward lift) and some of the newer ones can generate lift at 30mph, but when do teenagers do turns.
i agree though looks kinda dumb for the giant wings.
Got lip though:)
...and some balls down there. Like I said I like it clean:D
Not as sporty as the last batch on here, but I've replaced my boring old ride with a slightly less boring one:

Actually they are supposed to be set up for downforce... but I always laugh at guys with wings on their hondas, downforce over the rear wheels on a front wheel drive car.... :ROTF:
I'm not typically a fan of body kits, but nijel's isn't some wonky looking thing, actually looks decent mostly. I personally thing the rear bumper skirt is a little too much (fins are a bit too big IMO) but again that is IMO and if he likes it that's fine.
I see a lot of body kits on Honda's around here.... the problem is they are always partially finished......

Here are my "children"
1996 Pontiac Grand Prix 3100. I try to take pretty care of my cars, it's got 196,000 miles on it right now. Won't be long and it'll be crossing 200,000. It was my first car and hopefully I'll hold on to it for a long long time. Always gets full synthetic changed every 5,000 miles. Burns about a quart in that time...alot better than some new cars!
2001 Chevy Monte Carlo SS. It's almost loaded...I'm just missing heated leather. Rides nice, handles nice, and has a little bit of get up and go. It's just got a plain 3800 but it goes well enough. Love the gas mileage I get with it too, on trips I can get about 30 MPG. Also full synthetic oil every 5,000 miles with roughly the same consumption...though this is still a baby at 113,000 miles.
1930 Ford Model A. This was my grandpa's car, he restored it and it was passed on to me. I've had to do quite a bit of up keep through the years but its all worth it. Great little car with a lot of history.
Was able to finally take a break from work and give my redhead a good wash and wax.

I know, I know. I have douche-bag number plates. I've been driving this for quite a few years now and they seemed like a good idea when I was younger. Looking at getting the new Z4 this year so I'll get some more mature plates then (I want Euro plates even though I live in Australia).

Oh you say that now. I was a Honda man till I rode a D675. The 3 cyc is the best engine I have ridden on. Street and track it just eats up the jap bikes since its low end is amazing. Still trying to get the suspension setup, but will probably go full Ohlins this winter depending on how much I spend on vacation haha, but thank you for the comment.
Also your Benz is looking very nice man. I am actually looking at getting an Audi S5 sometime this year.
