Looks pretty good to me, definitely better than 75% of most beginners' work :)
There are still some unsleeved cables though ;)

Nice pictures, but that last one was photoshopped, right? It doesn't look like a natural bokeh.
amazing work as always guys..
I still wanna know how the BANANA you guys cut your heatshrink so evenly...
Hi people what do you think od these sleeve link , is it worse than mdpc-x?
i wouldn't use it. next time, i'm going to get some MDPC. it looks nice still but doesn't look as nice.
here is a pic of a system i just did.

Hey Martin hope your enjoying your vaca! Your gonna have a bunch of pms lol...

Just placed an order for the sleeving kit. Thanks to this thread I'm gonna try sleeving for the first time. =)
Hi,
I want to made some change to my build and that will go by a new sleeving, but am trying to find colored cable (white and black) to make them the right length before sleeving. Where do you buy them ?
Thank you Huww,
I had a look in performance-pcs before and didn't see them. But I found it now, had I better look !
Usually you can buy 300ft (100 meters) of electrical wire at many many online-etailers (no m0dd1ng-shops) for about 15-20 Euro (Dollars).
A little bit of searching should bring results, no matter where you live :)
American size:
AWG18 for everything except fans, front-panel-things, USB
AWG26 for everything which is not covered by AWG18
European equivalents (if you want to search in Europe):
AWG18 = 0,75mm˛ wire
AWG26 = 0,14mm˛ wire
may i connect standard pins for fans to the wires that come with standard 4-pin power molex, for example psu wires?
and then plug these wires with pins into the standard fan housing?
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...e_t_01_LRG.jpg
i doubt becoz psu wires are quite thick and fan connectors designed for thin wires
or in other words what awg is compatible with fans connectors?
As Nils said, 26 should work.
well, problem is that i have already wires, these ones that come with laing original pump
http://www.ru.aquatuning.de/images/p...400/5079_3.jpg
now i need to change this molex with 3-pin fan connector.
will those pins from the post above work with this particular wires?
24 gauge speaker wire works extremely well for fans and other smaller items and is quite easy to find. That is what I normally use for these types of applications.
Doesn't the molex on the ddc use the smaller of the two wires though? I could be mistaken, and I'm not on my desktop so I can't check.
i did cut off sleeve from pump wires, laing uses 22awg for the pump wires.
so question is it possible to use fan connectors on 22awg?
and second doubt i have, i plan to use standard fan extension cable for pumps, will it be safe to use 26awg as extension for pumps at 18watt?
does anyone have a good method for getting pins out of the fan connectors? i'm tearing my fingers to shreds here!
I used i staple for them at first, then a small precision screw driver (5$ at local depot)
Hi all,
I am currently building my new system and am going to sleeve everything (MDPC obviously :) ) but I have to use this sort of SAS cables:
http://www.techfuels.com/attachments...-sas-cable.jpg
are there any separate data/power cables I can use or pass through connectors like there are for SATA power cables? I think it will look butt ugly using molex connectors for my 4 sas drives.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks
/Dan
Hate to be a hijacker here, but could you suggest me a sleeved cable of this type -> http://www.frozencpu.com/products/56...ter_Cable.html ?
I found this -> http://www.frozencpu.com/products/87...ter_Cable.html , that looks pretty smart, but I'd eat my own spleen before I pay that much for a cable :p:
Never mind my previous post.
I will be using two 4 in 1 backplanes for 2,5" SAS. They only use one molex connector for power and 4 regular SATA cables.
Amazing work.
I love the Red black and white theme.... Ottawa Senators (NHL) colors ;)
If i may ask, how did you make the power mid-plate? Its ingenious, and would love to "borrow" that idea for my potential TJ07 Build ;)
Beautiful work Janik :)

Thank your ONCE again Martin for the awesome work you do ! They are going to look great in my SLI setup :P
Martin, you have taken this sleeving thing to a whole new level! The length of the heatshrink, the stretch, the length of the sleeve, all perfect!
I really would love to see a sleeved molex or sata powercable from you. ;)
Thanks Martin :)

Nice..
What can we use to get a precise cut of those heatshrinks?
What can we use to hold the sleeves in place while shrinking those heat shrinks?
My heatshrinks always ends up curved at the edge when using my apparently quite sharp scissors:(
Scissors...
Fingers...
You have to old the scissors in a 90° angle to the sleeve...
Sometimes I also get a curved cut - but only on ~ 10% of the shrinks.

Xien16,
Do you happen to have a worklog for this build ? I didn't find it here :)
Sorry - but not in this forum ;)

Zeus: Thanks :) Janik (Xien16) and Ferhan (fhantastic) are inspiration :)

as usual awesome work Martin:up:
Quick question, how would i go about sleeving the Sata and Molex connectors on this power supply? Would i have to pull apart the wires and then do so? Also, how hard would it be to do this?
And quick off topic question, is that a good power supply?
And absolutely fantastic job on all the sleeving guys! A real inspiration to start it myself!
Ok after seeing all the wiring ... I had a question on prices ...
How much would it cost me to sleeve and Antec 1200 with a 2 colored theme - 1 color for sure black-
Thanks all :)
kwscore: You got it! :)

Aa work of art, as usual. :yepp:
The trick (and challenge) is to make both ends of a single cable to look like that. Was able to do it on my HX850 about a year ago and about to start again on a AX1200. Sleeving one end perfectly and then covering the other with a single large piece to cover up inconsistencies is the easy way out.
Being a perfectionist and sleeving sucks....
Yes, thats how it should always be done!
And, there is no better sleeve in the world than what MDPC-X sells!!!!!!
I have nothing to add :D:D:D
Ah - I have: And, there is no cheaper sleeve in the world that what MDPC-X sells!!!!!! :D

What size sleeve do I need to sleeve ALL of the front panel wires into one sleeve? I'm talking about the Speaker, power and reset switches, and the power and hd activity leds.
Thanks NFC :)

As you can see above, Crys1s_Gam3r has kindly taken on the task of sleeving some of the cables from my SeaSonic X650 PSU. :clap:Pictured above is the 24pin MoBo. Here are a few others!
Consider yourself a lucky man. You got your cables sleeved by the sleevemaster himself.:D Looks breathtaking!
This level of sleeving is making me want to redo mine  Ridiculous. Mines good but its sure not that precise!
There is one thing I don't like about yout work Martin - It seems like nobody wants to show his system with your sleeves in :D:D:D

http://img13.abload.de/img/neverendings26o06u.jpg
beautiful, perfect color combination ;)
Nice sleevings!
Do anybody have any issues with sleeving the Fully Modular Seasonic X650 series?
EDIT: Just saw the amazing skills by Martin
Just go here and calculate: http://en.mdpc-x.com/ For every 10m of sleeve you will need about 1m of heatshrink. You will need the small heatshrink and sleeve for sleeving a PSU.
Does anyone know where I can find the following 2pin connectors:
http://i55.tinypic.com/313pphi.jpg
And then what type of pins would I need for those?
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...x&cPath=60_190
doesnt look like they've got a 1x2 though, so you'd probably have to use 2 x1xs
I know, right? What's up with that!
Oh well. Excellent work, though, Janik! :)
Michael: Thanks for posting! If you could post pictures of your rig with the cables installed that would be awesome :)
nnyymm: I had no issues with the X650's cables.

Crysis if only you lived in Australia. You're work is truly beautiful mate. I'm sure you're very proud of it :)
What does it look like at the other end?? Where the ATX cable comes out of the PSU.........
My first sleeving job :)
http://www.pohrani.com/t/1g/rk/Q4S8EHT/p9050129.jpg
In the middle of some ATX cables there is heatshrink, do you guys remove it reapply your own or what?
So with all you sleeving pros around on this thread, I have a quick question. The ONLY issue I seem to be having is once I have everything sleeved and the heatshrink shrunk, it won't fit back into the plug hole. I have mdpc sleeving and the 4:1 heatshrink. I have the sleeve itself stopping short of the hole as it should, and just the heatshrink wrapped around the wire just a few millimeters short of the metal connector being inserted. Just doesn't seem like the wire + heatshrink's diameter is small enough. I've tried a few times to make sure the heatshrink was as tight as it will go, and it is. Has anyone else experienced this with the MDPC products? It doesn't seem that complicated, but am I missing something?
Martin: Good name! ;) If you can't get the pin + heatshrink to fit info the connector, heat it up a bit and it should insert smoothly. :)
carcas: Do you mean sleeve and heatshrink that comes standard on most PSUs? I just cut it off. :)
Best,
Martin :)
Just one word to describe your sleeving Crysis Gam3r.........perfect, really is ;)
Anyone have any yellow sleeves?
I'm thinking of getting 20m Yellow and 10m Black Sleeves for my Seasonic X560 or Seasonic X650:D
Thanks zigzag :)
nnyymm: Yellow and black is a beautiful combination, especially in a matching build. :)

God I hate this thread ......
Its like a fish watching birds and daydreaming, I have a 175 euro cart at MDPC-X I'm itching to buy.
Only problem Oc'ing last build I blew my MB. who knew you couldn't push multiple MB buttons (by accident) at the same time.
During the strip down I blew out my hands the finally said enough is enough and developed full blow carpal tunnel I pretty much lost most of my very fine motor control.
I so want my new build MDPC-x but I Know i can't do it.
*Sigh*
Huh maybe Crys1s_Gam3r will take an insane commission ?
Anyone know wheres a good place to order up spools of wire.connectors and sleeving/heatshrink in the US??? Itching to do my Ultra X4 1600WATT P/S but dont want to mess with the cheap wires on it and i also dont want to viod the lifetime warrenty either.. So all new wires ground up is how i wana go. Better that way as i can extend the length of them for my new MM case.
So far i've found this site for both cheap spool wire and heatshrink.. No idea if this wire would be equall or safe to use though.. http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...Up-Wire/1.html. I would need 18 and 20 gauge correct?
Well.. I snapped I just dropped 200 euro With Nils.
I did hit Crysis up on his site but as I was talking it over today with the wife. She asked me a real simple question. Are you sure you want it that way ?
She has a way of putting stuff in perspective for me. I'm not exactly sure of layout and lengths till case get built and it hooked up if i get somebody else to do it I can't make Minor Finishing Touches.
Sooooo I'm hauling out the good painkillers and Going try this myself. if i get this done I have a feeling It'll be more enjoyable /achievement.
If Not Crys1s_Gam3r getting a Big box of supplies and a check.

Colors other then black and white from MDPC-X?? I've seen posts in this thread of people getting other colors but i dont see them on his site. Is that a custom order deal or something?
Thanks James :)
