Even water has limited effectiveness against 35-45C room temperatures :p: And it still has the same problem where all the heat is still being dumped into the room, except now I'd have water on everything, so I'd be tempted to OC it even more :p:
The stock clock things might be an idea, though :p: Put the E7200 in the desktop (gaming rig) and get it clocked nice and high, and have both quads running at 2.4-3.0 GHz (3 Ghz requires like 0 voltage increase).
What I need is for dad to donate a bit of his shed space so I can set up some shelves there with power an net, that way I can move the server and wolfdale in there, and just have the gaming rig in my room...
Eller
hmm,( but Sig sent me the idea thru mind meld, He is bad that one and the force is strong in him, the darkside)
Maybe your the ideal person to try that 55 gal drum buried 4ft underground where it stays close to 50-60F year round..
( If it's a dumb idea, blame Sig!
mount a car rad outside or under your house and built a mass water cooling system.................
Or you could just not run it 24/7. :sofa:
Oh BTW my E2180 @ 3.0 (I hope) will be up on WCG in a few days.
Damn, I like fart_plumes new title..
and golly jeez, he just went off line!
It's on now Dave!!!,lol be expecting the unexpected when your not looking!!! .......................Muhahahahahaha............. ...

There's a lot of Canada where the ground temperature never gets above freezing. I believe they call that "summer" there.
What's funny is that isn't the case except up in the very North.
I was 500 miles north of Montreal, almost 1/2 way to Baffin Bay
Ice out first week of May, by 4th week of May temps in the high 80's, by August it's a hothouse but snow by last September most of the time.
Friggin black flies in late May will eat you alive!
I got over 100 bites one day with netted headgear on.
Forgot a bandana on my neck and they thought it was 5pm at Outback Steak House!
Who said i was complaining, just reminded me of it......................
Everone like Dave's new avatar?
I'm confused. Is the smell worse before or after they're . . .
Uh oh, I may have already said too much.
As long as it's not someone's fantasy . . . And if it is, I don't want to know ANYTHING about it. M'kay?
Gah, swapping the E7200 into the desktop has not gone as planned.
Under water:
Q6600, 3.6 Ghz @ 1.43v = 60°C load
E7200, 3.8 Ghz @ 1.33v = 70°C load <--- WTF?
It's half the cores, only 200 Mhz faster with 0.1v less vCore, and yet it's 10°C hotter? It's not the temp sensors, since I had it at that clock and vCore under an SI-128 and it was hitting about 60C load, so it's something with my loop... But literally the only thing I changed hardware-wise was going from the Q6600 to E7200...
Eller
You didn't get your waterblock mounted c#ck-eyed did you?
Karl.... what can I say...... just take ownership of the shed!
The 4 quads in my garage make it into an oven! lol
If I owned this house I would put a shed out the back just for quads with a hole in the ground as Dave suggested to keep things cool!
Just tell him its for a good cause and that this will move the heat outta the house and reduce the aircon bill etc etc etc
Oh yeah and with regards to your temps I think it must be something to do with your mounting. Also I do remember that some CPUs have different tmp readings depending on they type and program etc so maybe check that too.
Yeah, I'm going to see if he can make me a little bit of room so I can set up some shelves for the rigs.
Tried re-mounting, and it did nothing. When I had been playing around with it earlier on air, things seemed to be running fine, so I'm really not sure. The Q6600 is back under water, and I think the PSU D_A donated to me has blown a fuse or something (it'll run a stock E7200, but it seems a Q6600 at 3.0 with 1.25v was too much :p:).
The problem isn't with the temps that the rigs are at, the problem is that the rigs are putting too much hot air into my bedroom, making it un-inhabitable :p:

thats another close one guys but i'll take it, keep up the great work
close one; we need to keep it over 5 mil. MM what happened to your pink tu-tu?
You know...you should wash the cod piece now and again too.
I was down for today's work with a power outage, but one computer is back. Two more quads down until NYE when I get back home.

I'll be back home late tonight to restart the two quads that didn't come back on when the power came back !
At least I hope I'll be able to restart them..... :O
Nefalem is just chewing through units right now. I *think* sixteen down, might be more already.

Nice to see we're back to the middle 5's.
Excellent day of crunching everyone!!

that's more like it :)
Nice work, team. Unfortunately I'm only running WCG for about 8 hours a day (over-night) due to the good ol' Aussie summer, so my production has just about halved. And the E7200 is down completely due to a blow PSU (The PSU ran the E7200 at stock, but blew when I asked it to do a Q6600 at 3.0 Ghz with stock vCore :p:).
Eller
The CPU still works fine, although I haven't checked mobo and RAM yet, but I think the fuse blew before it took anything out. I'll have to wait until I get a half decent jobbie to be sure, though. Not your fault, I was the one who put the quad on a cheap 350 watt :p:
Eller
I run my OCed X2 on a 200W fortron FSP.. at max bios Vcore :ROTF:
In a HTPC desktop case, no less. I am really surprised it didn't blow up yet :D
Am I afraid to kill it? Well no, not really.. it's a crappy clocker anyways, 1,54V for 2,7Ghz, jeez
Lets put our numbers into perspective to show how we kick the livin sheet out of the two top teams everyday. :)
#1) Team 2ch
"Users Returning Work : 2066/7848 (26.33%)"
#2) Easynews
"Users Returning Work : 897/3472 (25.84%)"
#3) XtremeSystems
"Users Returning Work : 209/867 (24.11%)"
Now, doesn't that look even better? :D
Just got my E2180 at 3.0 on the grid!!
RAMMIE is back!
Excellent day of crunching everyone!
I returned 14 days of work from Sammy yesterday :hehe:
+60K for me.
I've worked my way up from the bottom to break rank 150 with 10 cores; getting real close to 2.5 mil too. But now it's time for me to re-build my main cruncher. It's going to be down for a couple weeks probably. This is going to hurt, probably gonna drop in rank, but I gotta do it. This time I wont do anything stupid like try to take the lid off the cpu...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=212891
thanks for the tire tracks the other day. hopefully i'll be able to return the favor again. i've only got 4 full time cores and occasional/rare help from 2 more. i like our back and forth battle in rank, keeps things interesting. keep up the great work :toast:
great day guys, keep em comin
Back at college, so I shouldn't ever have to shut Nefalem down again.
Good job everyone!
At your age you've just forgotten what your name is.................:sofa:
He probably meant Nephilim. Sounds like a cross between Kabbalah and 45nm process tech. :D ;)
