Actually my understanding when the second thread started, it was to be strictly for stable clocks and bios settings. That way people could easily search the database for any setting they are missing in a quest for stability. :yepp: It has long been polluted with general comments all of which should be merged with this thread. That would probably take a mod the better of a couple hours to clean up though.
Hi there guys,
Hope you all are fine, it´s been some time since my last post.
I have a recurring problem with bios 907 that didnt happen before with 901 and previous.
Using axeram 2X1GB ddr2 pc1200 - 5-5-5-15 sec. settings on auto
bios volt 2.38 (win 2.38)
clock twister moderate, trans. booster enabled 0
as is preety stable with everest benchmark 9.849 latency 50.2
this happens with either acpi settings on auto or S3 only, 2,0 enabled or not.
When resuming from sleep sometimes (not always, which is strange, the least) i get stuck in "det ram". After manual reset if i don´t enter bios right away on the next boot it will always keep stucking in "det ram".
either cmos power off, cmos reset or even manually activating the clr_cmos switch no go!
Only solution was to take out the ram´s, insert other ones (2X1GB corsair dominators 6400), posting first time (i get cmos error but it posts to enter bios) then recovering bios settings profile, turn off, re-insert the axeram´s and voi la! it posts and boots to windows (vista sp1).
So somehow the unability to post is somehow related to an error getting stuck if i don´t change the rams and switch back to the first ones altogether.
anyone ever had this one problem.? should i go back to 901 or in fact 505.?
greetings
It's an issue with how the board handles the DIMM voltage. The newer 1003 and 1004 BIOS do it too.
ok...
but then what u think i should do.. go back to 0901, or 505..?
or up the ram voltage by a notch.? its already at 2.28 bios /2.38 win and its not even at full spec for 5-5-5-15 pc1200 (running at 1173), altough clock twister moderate and trans. boost enabled 0....
thks
My AVG Anti-virus detected a Trojan Horse in the CPUZ.exe as it initiated last nigh; It quarrentined but not till after some of my .Dll files where corrupted or changed. Now I ger error mesiges all the time.
Thought you guys might want to know!
Any one know how to fix or repair dll files?
Any idea why my EVEREST keeps dropping the CPU temp reading. See pictures below.

Possibly because that is a very old version of Everest and you're on a bios with a CPU Temp bug?
Newest non beta Everest 4.20.1170
And my BIOS is 0907
I'm on Beta 4.20.1307 and it has pretty much spot on readings for everything. Give it a go?
Once that bogus CPU temp drops below zero, Everest stops reading it.
That sound like what might have happen.
Please use the new thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...68119&page=101 ;)
And could anybody please close this (old) thread!?
My cooling is an Antec P180B case with 5x Yate Loon D12SL (~1250RPM) and a TR120UE with 2x D12SL.
This is the old one! It`s better to only have to look for 1 thread!
I think this is the first board I've had 2 XS threads to read up on. :D
This tread is has more to do with the mobo and it's quirks or features and how to make use of them. The "2nd, or part 2" carrys over from here but went way off into the more advanced RAM sub timings and custom and BETA BIOS for scores mainly.
Finally, got my mobo back the other day and up and running and is fine so far. they returned it to me with BIOS v0903. That's odd, I figured a final, not BETA. Especially since I was doing great on v0602 in the end.
I also removed the X38 chipset IHS to see how much better it will cool. I also had a chance to relap my E6750 for mirror shine as before it was just fsatin shiny, but very flat and matched to ThermalRight base. I am pleased to say this Yltra 120 was evenly shaped compared to my othersa I have lapped. It does appear they leave a slight higher poing near center to make better conntact with CPU IHS centers.
But here it is now;

This post might belong to a different areas but pls hear me out.
previously 2x Raptors 75Gb + 1 more hdd working fine on Raid 0
Taken out from the previous mobo (has been rma now) and installing them to the Rampage will now give IDE post error. Will come on the lcd panel and will not boot any further.
taken out and putting them to the formula is giving the same error.
i change then to normal sata operation they will work but then i will have C, D,E and one DVDdrive
The idea is to have 2x raptors as raid 0 for the OS only Vista Ultimate 64 and the 3rd hdd as the "storage" hdd.
After several tries the one raptor that will not boot as raid was formated/tested with the WD test SW with no errors.
Still by selecting SATA: Raid in bios will not allow the system to boot.
Any ideas here? txs
EDIT: Low level format (2nd time) restored problem. 2nd Hdd was detected after that and initial post cleard. Raid setup was possible with no other changes..
Well that was a strange one!
Anyone have successful 4GHz+ settings for a Q6600 and the Maximus?
I'm @ 3.6GHz with Liquid Cooling (idle is ~29-30C and load never goes above 52C or so) and want to get a bit more out of it, but I'm not sure what voltages in addition to the CPU (i.e. PLL, NB, SB) to use.
I'm hoping somebody else has a 100% stable system with a Q6600 @ 4Ghz on the Maximus...
Thanks!
PPL 1.7, NB 1.55, SB auto

Wonderful Anuaja! What about your other voltages, such as SB, etc?
Also your memory MHz, timings, etc?
Is this stable 24/7? That's what I'm looking for...
Thanks!
