I really do think you guys are overvolting your FSB termination beyond what needs to be for the low overclocks your doing. There is no need for 1.26VFSB at 3.8 and 4ghz, VFSB is only for high FSB overclocks anyway not mhz. Its still a touchy subject but intel clearly states not to go over 1.14v unless you want to risk ruining your cpu.
I dont even need to go above 1.10vfsb to get 4200mhz or 4300mhz.
Fankr you have the same ram i do just rebranded "8000" change your tras cycle time to 65, the Auto setting doesnt work well for this memory. Change the FSB strap to 333mhz, you dont need 2.10v for your memory at such low overclocks. Keep all those settings you have on disabled on Auto except Cpu spread sprectrum. I found turning them on disable like that hamperd my overclocks. You also most certantly do not need 1.26VFSB for 3.8ghz. Stop listening to these people.
You most likely have a bad batch CO, check the first page you will notice most older e8400's dont go beyond 4ghz if at all even using 1.37vcore.
Mrbungle, stock speeds the cpu is always cold.. Try upping to 4ghz and you'll be amazed how much hotter the thing gets lol
