Thanks stryg, we Dothanites need to stick together. ;) Jeez, I really need to try this (Charlie, have you tried this? You have similar clocks to mine). I think my previous problems might be that I was booting at 200, not 201. Is that an arbitrary little feature or what?

I never thought I would say this about a 37K 2001 score, but my rig is seriously underachieving. I woke up this morning and my hair was white. :lol:

I know I have 40K in this rig. I just want to hit it before someone else hits 50K, which the next gen cards are sure to do - if Kingpin doesn't do it with his 850.

This 7700 on the Dothan simply ROCK! I run in at lowest RPM and get 32 degrees idle, 40 degrees load. Silent as a breeze. Need either droop mod or wiremod to get enough vcore. In drops below 1.55 during load when set to 1.6 in bios...

I ALWAYS boot at 201fsb... and with P4C800E-Dlx I never have probs with PAT or AGP lock.

But I haven't seen you at 5:4 FSB/RAM ratio at 3000+, if I am not mistaken? :confused:

This seems to be my max. (At which I can grab a screenie :) ) I got to 2.9 but it quickly decided it had other plans. :D

Of course you haven't issues with PAT, you're on a natural PAT-board :D

I just got my rig up 'n running after a lot of struggle, so Im not really up to this bios flashing thing with one bios for the bootblock and another for "the rest"...

On the 3D-side: What should be my goal with a rusty-old 9800Pro (R350 core) in 3D01? I score way too low for now and I suck so bad at 3D-tweaking, so I need some motivation...

Can someone explain me why at 200 fsb agp/pci is not locked: isn't it locked it when 66/33 is enabled in bios?

Just a quick update. Did some pi runs. At 2640 I had some mem problems, but these setting seemed to be quite usable and stable. I am beginning to like this machine. Still using the stock cooler, but temps don't seem to be any problem. :cool:

I am using Kingston HyperX KHX3200ULK2/1G dual channel pair. With fastest timings I am able to run these about 430Mhz ddr quite stable but I think there are better choises if you are aiming for high benchmark scores. I didn't expect this type of mem to hit even as high clocks as it has with lowest latencies. I was mainly aiming to build an extremely quiet yet powerfull general purpose and gaming system. I am very satisfied with how it turned out to be. :)

Im posting from my laptop, uz my board tells me I have a new CPU installed, and that I should enter bios to set it properly up! I get that message EVERY time i boot.

Im gonna try the new bios, see if it helps...

Hi, just read on the first page of the thread that with p4p800 its dificult to get above 170FSb, is that really true? any chance that a bios update give us p4p800 official ct-479 support, not beta bios crap?

Wuld you recomend going with p4p800+dothan 730 or isn't my board ok for, let's say 2.5-2.6 overclocks?

They have official bioses with ct-479 support but they suck monkey-balls.
Not much options
Beta bioses aren't bad at all, beta does not mean unstable :) , I haven't tried the new one. But I will try it this week-end.
If you have a P4P800 board I would stick with it.
But if you're buying a new one and/or you funds allow to buy a new one I would get a P4C800(E)-(Dlx) or an P4GD1 :)

I need to clean up on the frontpage.

Is it fair to divide the P4C and P4P boards into two categories instead of P4C800-E, P4C800-E Deluxe, P4P800SE, P4P800 and so forth...?

Any suggestions as to how to make the frontpage more clear are welcome :toast:

Not yet, got some real work to do today. Then (maybe tonight) I am ripping the cascade off of the X800XTPE, which BTW is pissin me off to no end, and putting it on the Dothan. Let's see what she can do at -85C and a new BIOS. :slobber:

Oh, and the OCZ RAM booster comes this week, for some lower latency action. Should get me to the 23-second pi range, not that I have ever cared about pi.

Nah, I can go 274 (at least) on my board. I think this new bios that allows you to set the multi in the bios is huge if it works. It no longer means that the 760/770's are only for phase change, since you don't have to boot at 3GHz+ to get the 201 FSB features (additional ratios, locked AGP/PCI).
