if i can get 340 htt, should I run htt at 2x or 2.5x? How will the speed 680 vs 850 affect performance? I heard something about AMD 1/2 multipliers is non-existent?
That's only for the processor, the HTT multiplier works just fine (and without speed/MHz losses) on a *,5X multiplier.
I'm really interested in the AN8 Ultra board, but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully used a Thermalright XP-120 on it?
I know it worked on the old AN8 boards (according to Thermalright here), but will the new audio-card and heatpipe obstruct it in any way?
Does someone have an AN8 rev2/Ultra and an XP-120 and can test it? I would be really grateful. ;)
the clearance is pretty big and i don't think you will have an issue as my Freezer64 is pretty bulky....what is the actual clearance specified by manufacturer i can just measure it

MY POST MADE IT INTO A STICKY AT ABIT FORUM REGARDING End-User suggestions/tips for future BIOS releases:banana:
Any suggestions from Abit and other users is welcome.....:toast:

Kidding, kidding...
 looks like the new bios 16 is coming out soon... VR Zone guy mention something about bios 16 here :hehe:

let´s hope it lives up to the high hopes we all have ;)
Good thing about haveing to wait for this board is that by the time it gets to the states all or most of all the kinks will be worked out
can someone explain to me how to use the ddr433, 466 and 500 options? My ram is good to about 263fsb
lol that is memory divider....
Let say you have HTT set at default 200MHz and multiplier 9x
you dont want to clock your processor speed.
exp:
Set your DDR clock to : DDR433
your memory speed ~ 217MHz & HTT = 200MHz
Set your DDR clock to : DDR466
your memory speed ~ 233MHz & HTT = 200MHz
Set your DDR clock to : DDR500
your memory speed ~ 250MHz & HTT = 200MHz
:cheer2:
so this is a good way to measure your memories max speed without out anything else affecting it?Quote:

this board doesnt really like 1/1. it tends to strain under 1/1 read further back and you will see the posts. not only that but cpu's are not all created equal as we all know and some have less than desirable memory controllers thus 1/1 is not always better.Quote:

not really an issue with a venice or a sandiego cpu you can use a ddr 500 divider and run your htt at 250x4 which will in turn be ddr 600 :)Quote:

Gonna reinstall windows on my spare HD see if it acts up anymore as my first thought was i killed the nf4 chip. wouldnt be the first time i did that either. last time it was an nforce 2 board. first it was the lan that died then the sata ports then the sound then eventually heat fried northbridge fan and magic smoke came out the nforce chip.
but it has issues running at say 275fsb 1:1? thats assuming my chip will do that.Quote:
