If I were you, I'd go option 2 first, if not..then 1, and if all hell break lose...then 3.
surely 3.3v is safe, loads of people in here are @ 3.3v, also why cant i use orange slots the yelow ones for me at least are useless cant even get into windows on them and if i do get into windows it fails spi 1mil instantly.
for good sake
272$ is nuts
My Redlines arrived today! Got them for the $255 price advertised last week, and because they were out of stock, the shipping (next day air, thankyouverymuch) was free! Rock on! Can't wait to try them out tonight :) I'll post OC times etc later.

RIP! my 4000 redline :( Sytem wont post.
what happened??? what bios and memory slot did you use? how many vdimm and which rail you feed them off of? test out your stick individually and see what is up with them.Quote:

will post screenie when finished priming ;)
Charlie what settings for DRAM Drive Strenght and DATA Drive Strenght did you use with you Redline 4000?
And what voltage for the NB and LTD?

I was using 8/2 before and the clocks were the same.
with pifast i just can't pass 270MHz.
i tried different A64Tweaker setting.
Right now mine are about the same as Charlie's settings.
3,5V Vdimm gives me 270MHz but more voltage doesn't help anything...
Really weird problem, new 4000 redline will memtest and everything else up to 251mhz with 3.2volts, wont do 1mhz more with any voltage, tested up to 3.6v. Just locks everything up. Can someone post all their bios timings, ive checked several times but maybe theres something im missing. Im so used to tccd......maybe thats it.
CH5 doesn't benefit from over 3.5v or so.... try more cooling??Quote:

Hope this helps :D
isnt xp4000 ch5? so your are ch-5 and you said initially they were still gaining speed even at higher voltages :confused:Quote:

yes... Charlie said it right.Quote:

The beauty, it has no trouble running 3.3v vdimm. Problem solved.
My old BH-5 simply does not like anything more than 3.1v. I hate em.....
But this mushy 4000 red is rock solid stable at 3.3v & higher... and i can tell it has *lots* of headroom. I love this RAM.
wait so its ch5 but its acts a bit like bh5 and ch5 together? just mystery stuff ey?Quote:

did you pop the heatspreaders for cooling or will just a 80mm strapped on be enough?Quote:
