I think maybe you should get 3500+ diegos, it just showed up on the roadmap, very strange unless amd is having yield problems with alot of them then I dont expect them to do over 2.4 to 2.6GHz
Before discussions of sales gets any deeper, I need to remind everyone that any and all sales (if they are to transpire) need to take place in the For Sale section or via PM. With that said, I'm hoping that AMD will pull through in the coming week or two. The anticipation and anxiety we have built up as a collective is beyond words.
More unwarranted speculation, my friend? Let's try to hold off on the guesses at least until a few of the chips have found their way into the hands of enthusiasts.Quote:

Wish I knew how reliable that roadmap was
Anyone know anything about that guy? Seen him in a few different forums...

in the contrary to what you said I can say that AMD just found some magical dust and are turnning out 4000+ cores all over the place and since they do want to keep the supply on the 4000+ limited so they can have higher margin they sell the rest of the Diego core for cheap. Besides, how many people do you know that will spend money for 4000+?
Or maybe the Deigo core simply has some bad cache and can only have 512k for use? It won't effect overclock at all.
So unless you have good evidence. EVEN JUST ONE, please keep your opinion to yourself. Thank you.
FYI, this is a public forum and everybody is entitle to their opinions however right or wrong, speculation or not.Quote:

Have a nice day. :toast:
what you said is true, but he is discouraging others from trying new stuff. And we all know here at XS trying new things is good.Quote:

back to topic. If most etailer only have a couple of venice in stock when it comes out, how come AMD says you have order a batch of 500 or so cpu's at once?
Ok ill keep my speculations to myself, but anyone that speculates is just guessing whats gonna happen. We will find out facts shortly the mystery behind amd's decision and pricing of the cpus. If I had an opinion, I would think amd does not always make good decisions and are missing out on maximizing their profits but hey what am I to say, amd knows themselves and the market better than any of us do. We dont know how much the 3500+ diego will be, if itll be 1mb or if itll even see the daylight, maybe amd will just hold onto them for months, who knows?
haha, yes, AMD seems to miss out on maximizing profit alot of time but that's why we love them so much. Alot of headroom to overclock most of the time. Well I really do hope that 3500+ diego will come out. More choice = better most of the time anyways. If they can just release the damn thing already. I've been following this thread every step of the way.
Does amd really care for us overclockers, would they really make less profit by releasing the 3500+ to satisfy us overclockers? Many of us view the Diego chip as the ethautist overclocking workhorse. If the 3500+ is for real, what reason will there be for the much more expensive 4000+ then? I am not gonna speculate on overclockability this time, but it still makes me wonder why 3500+ at the last minute
if they release the 3500+ san diego it might be a way for them to say sorry for those crappy CBBID
is there any link to San Diego core and how high they clock?
you can wait a few more days... april 15th is the official release date if it hasnt been said already.Quote:

April 4th is when Venice was "officially" shipping to retailers. We are still waiting on this 12th for us to be able to buy them.

So, expect the same kind of wait.
hrmm so today's the day to order Venice? i wish monarch or newegg has them for order. i want one really bad. i thought the 4th was the day the NDA was lifted on the Venice/Diego cores. time to check newegg or monarch and see if they have Venice.
for people wanting to know about the 3800+ venice in chinatown it was at filtech computer corner of spandia and college, in toronto if you know where that is. He told me his distrbutor and amd is only shipping venice and winchestoers should become rare. I had the box in my hand but I'm too cheap for the 3800 and he was using it in a new system.
Ofcourse they do. Every review overlocking is tested. There are enuff people who bough a 4000+ and run it stock because they think overclocking is dangerous or that kinda of :banana::banana::banana: :DQuote:

Hey you had the atomic bomb first (well maybe not a good example)
canada always gets ripped off on computer hardware, and usualy most things after the states, but finally we are getting some stuff early. Youd just have to walk in the shops and find it, or tell the owners to look out for the new stuff you want. Go chinatown, it's like a mini comp district 20+comp stores within 4 blocks
