I've got a "2" from ZZF and i have the same problem, it's all luck of the draw. I tried the voltage thing you refer to, I'm sure that I'm getting the voltages that I think I am but there's no effect.Quote:

Ill be happy in the middle somewhere
so after further testing...
i can do prime 2.75 ghz with 1.53 volts
but in order to run 2.8 ghz (or 50 mhz more) i need 1.66!!!
crazy... but 2.75 is nothing to complain about since all the awesome winchesters are gone.. and should be good enough to hold me over until venice is released soon :)
There's nothing wrong with running 1.66VCORE, even if you're on air. Go for it. :toast:
yeah i know... but is it worth boosting vcore that much to gain only 50 mhz though?Quote:

I run my Newcastle 3200 at 1.68v 24/7 without problems and temperatures never go over 50c under load. I have a Hyper 6 HSF which gives me some room to play, but in general since these chips are 1.5v stock even 1.7v is not that much increase that it would cause damage if the air cooling is good.
Where did your CAA2C get it from???Quote:

Looked in the shop this afternoon, we still have like 10 of those CAA2C's. Week 5, 6 & one week 10 if i'm not mistaken.
Dont worry mate, knowing my luck it probably wont do better than yours :p
Mine feels no slower than my FX-55 at the same clock.Quote:

Mine didn't run any hotter Chivalry with the stock hsf -- it is setup on my techstation though in a cool room -- 18°C.
um.. so u saying that im geting the same temps with a XP-90 that u were getting with the stock HSF? :0(
I got a CAA2C from ZZF yesterday and i'm struggling to get it over 2.6Ghz on a DFI Ultra-D. I have the voltage close to 1.6V and CPU-Z reports 1.584V. It boots up into windows fine at 240 HTT x 11 (2640Mhz) but its not Prime95 stable at all. My temps may be the problem since i have an XP-90 installed but only a 80mm Cooler Master fan until my 92mm high speed Panaflo gets here.
This DFI Ultra-D sure has a :banana::banana::banana: load of configurations in the Genie BIOS to mess around with. Getting everything right for the RAM in the DRAM config is a pain.
I'll see if i can't get this thing stable tonight after work. If not i'll be sending this one back and ither getting another one or wait and grab a Venice core.
what idle / load temps u getting with that XP-90 burningrave?
ah.... didint see the 18c room bit,,,, my rooms at 24c atm :/Quote:

It was my Gigabyte mobo that was holding me back. I'm up to 2.42ghz now and will be going higher soon. These Neo2's are pretty nice.
