I'm running XP with nothing in the backgroud at all. There's like 13 services running at startup, so it isn't that. I will try the tweak. I did use cat 4.12's, and i don't plan on doing win2000, wasn't it supposed to be worth only like 400 points or something?!Quote:

I really like the tweak for phase too. There's no recovery period or waiting between tests ( except on the card), as idle temp is the same or 1 degree higher (for me), than loaded.
He said he tested 430/560.....i did mine at 450/550, i don't think it's worth that much more for clocks on the card. Not to mention, i tested with pretty high MHz myself, 3200MHz and 2850MHz respectively.Quote:

Yeah, 3200MHz on an AMD is pretty weak. :stick:Quote:

Only gonna help one more time;)
Look at the driver version that most of the better scores are using, notice anything?
Well i'm using 4.12's same as everyone. And i don't own a copy of Win2000, so i don't follow you.
Edit: This is what run i am talking about. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8558104
Gotcha, thats the right version in that run. I was seeing .6517's in the other's. One thing you might check is to see if the card mem timings are the same (if you can find that info), as other XL's. There might be a difference with your card.
Are you on a bench partition?
Nature is very much about the card but the CPU plays a part, more than some might think.
Did you ever find some LL/BH-5 ram to play with?
I give up on stock air, i can't get any better than this. Nature goes up, another test goes down, grrr. I'll go for more at a later point.

Still good enough for top 10 at ORB i guess
very nice ! :toast:Quote:

i ll sure get also one.
btw... here are some pics of the evap for the XL (39,5x39,5x14mm)
This is my Best on stock air. thought I was doing good untill i saw some of you guys on here :P
Stock air still. Various clocks, mostly 447/557 area. If I had 3.2Ghz I guess I'd be doing a bit better
You're still killing me in Nature. I can't figure it out. 1/4 runs i'll get a decent score for my clocks, around ~220, but the other runs are way lower, 207 or so. And this is 1/4 times i kill the mark and restart it, not just 4 back to back runs. And in my order, nature comes towrds the end. I guess i'm not doing terrible in Nature considering i am only clocked to 450/550 stock air?Quote:

Well i'm sure you're running each test by itself. I run mine dl, ll, ch, dh, lh, n, cl....and if you re-run cl 5-6 times alone you can get a freak score that'll boost your overall. You can't save a run, and then complete it later on or anything like that, must all be done at a time (not in a row, but at one bench sitting, obviously you can wait between tests), but of course you can re-run the tests. Only thing is, if you get a worse score, you're stuck with it, or you must run again. I'm obviously not the best bencher myself, but my hardware manages to keep up alright.Quote:

Only explanation I can come up with for that Nature variation is a somehow unstable overclock. Any artifacts? Nature shouldn't be affected by order, pretty much the only test (except for CL) that isn't.
Nature loves mem speed on the gpu, my 230-240 is with 600 mem speed.

You XL folk ever mess around with the timings? My Pro did pathetic out of the box, couldn't even hit 540. Loosened the tRP to 6 to hit 580 and eventually 7 to hit 590. The GPU core being at such high speeds demanded high memory bandwidth and didn't seem to care about the latency hit.
No, that is artifact free.
Does my nature look about right for the clocks though? It's not like i've got an exceptional clocker here, it's on stock air without tweaks.
Gautam, i'll give the memory a shot, see if i can't boost that. Thanks for the tip. Last time i tweaked memory on my x800 AGP it didn't do so well :p:
Try bumping up the AGP bus speed to 70-72ish. Should give you a couple of FPS, as does giving priority to the video card's IRQ via the registry. Don't expect miracles though.
The memory tweaks only work out if your memory is crap, the way mine is. Your X800 was too damn good. :D Might get you close to 600 out of the XL tho.
My XL is PCI-E, so no bumping of the agp bus. I'll definetly give those mem tweaks a shot, gotta see how far i can take that bad boy. It's just for a daily gamer, so if it doesn't clock better i'll certainly live. Thanks.
