Impressive 6200 Overclocks

Wow - i didn't realize this thread was still so active..it got moved on me :P Anyways - Davos - all these overclocks are done with standard 6200 cards, the TC's are a different GPU and will not see the same insane overclocks that these 6200's do. Also, they are hardlocked at 4-pipes, so you can't even unlock it to 8 like you can with a regular 6200. I have a 6200TC lying around too and i've been meaning to try and OC it and see what happens..maybe i'll start another thread if it turns out good :)

AlterBridge86 you're back. Can u help me to get more from my card. it's just like yours. But I would like software only (bios) if it is possible to rise the voltages. Or maybe another bios compatible. Are other good bioses to use from gigabyte ? Maybe an 6600 ? Or maybe GV-NX62128DP would give me more voltages ?

I've got one of the above cards - flashing with the sparkle ultra bios enables massive overclocking with no artifacts BUT the dvi port wont work! :mad:

Anyone know of a modified version of the above bios that will enable dvi on the card or of an editor so i can turn the port on myself? Or has anyone found a better bios for overclocking on this card?

Firewhite, is Gigabyte PCIE ? If so please send me the Sparkle ultra bios for PCIE cards and some instructions how to flash.

Well I bit and got an apollo 6200 128mb 128 bit, so hoping for an unlockable one.

It was refurb :( , but it was 60 bucks so I couldnt pass it up.

That might work, but it may be a newer core rev, so it might not. 6200's these days are risky. A few months ago it was pretty easy to find unlockable ones.

then is better to buy a 6600gt or wait for new cards...

or a 6600. I wonder if 6600LE's are unlockable.

I just built my brother a computer, got E3 venice (yay), and an apollo 6200 from the egg for 60 bucks. I unlocked the extra 4 pipes in rivatuner, so it shows 8x1 pixel and 3x1 vertex, but with this, and clocked at 400/600, it still only scored approx 6000 in 03. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Your only hope of some better performance would be OCing that card even more so better cooling may help. I watercooled one that I have and put ram sinks on the memory. Gave me a best of 482/685 and a 6643 in 3Dmark03 with 8x1 pipes

i have a bfg gf6200oc 256 agp and i wanna know if that card has the unlockable pipes,how can i find this out,ne1 plz help it be muchly appreciated..:)

I can clock easy my 6200 up to 525Mhz core but the memory (Samsung 4.0ns) tops at 620Mhz 2990 score on 3Dm 05 8 pipes

Run a few searches and it will explain exactly how to try and unlock masked pipes. Its very easy. Usually the NV43 AGP cores have a chance of unlocking NV44 however will not. At least thats what I have been told. I do have a A6200 NV43 A4 that does not unlock so its a hit or miss but my A6200 NV43 A2 does. Both are AGP versions

ok im back and very sad.. :( it appears i have one of the NV4A(A1,4x1,3vp) which appearntly cannot be unmasked and im very depressed about it now,i'da not bin too bad if i didnt know theres some out there that can be made better.. :rolleyes: and then i went ahead and did a benchmark with 3dmark03 in stock form and got a mealy 2217,with cant be right can it?there must be sumtin wrong.. :mad: ne way,im thinkin about goin out tommorrow and dishing out another $200 to try my luck again but at a different retailer:P

but if by some chance im stuck with this 1 can ne 1 tell me what to expect out of this card without those 4 extra pipes :confused:

ne way,im sorta new to overclocking so could somone tell me what to expect from this card and the best way to go about it.how far i can push it without upgrading the heat/fan?its currently running 375/400 stock,can it be pushed to 500/650? and is it worth flashing the bios,and how does 1 do that?

Dude, I reckon u could find an unlockable on e-bay ;). On the cheap too :) . I made the same mistake as you with an xpertvision, not minding really. But the fps really sux in demanding 3d games. Still maybe something can be overclocked to get some sort of decent use out of it?

So far it's not doing much better than my old all in wonder radeon with 32Mb ram. lmao (I must have got some settings wrong somewhere). This revision really is a poor mutilated GPU, though. Nvidia would have done better to have kept it as it was and attract the overclocking community with a great bargain.

Still, let's not despair, I'm sure the overclocking wizards will have some good advice to get something out of these.

Anyhow I'll try get some info and test some things, let's see what we can get out of these "duds".

I've been inspired by the impressive results achieved in this thread. Therefor I've bought an Asus N6200GE 128mb PCI-E. I applied the volt mods and some extra cooling, my maximum clocks are 610/773 with Vgpu at 1,650V and Vmem at 2,775V

What are the WRs in 01, 03 and 05? I find it hard to see in the ORB because of the 6200@6600 mods and so on :confused:
