I tested the mobo with another E6400 and this time i can't pass over 465 fsb ( 500 fsb with the other ) so max fsb depends on cpu ... :(
for sure thermalright cooler will be better than zalman one i suggested but sb is not as warm as nb , with two HR-05 you'll be ready ! :cool:Quote:

Honestly I don't think it does in this case. Have you done anything to your NB? Like as5, lapping? I can do 510fsb, but it won't last long because of the nb overheating. It'll run at 3.4ghz orthos stable, but as soon as you run any app or blend to test the NB it crashes in seconds. This is a huge pain.Quote:

before there was an ftp from asus with a lot of beta bios now it doesn't exist anymore.

w/ droop its like 1.42v i think i dont recall right now as its 5am O_o.
this RMA board i got is alot better. i can actually leave the NB voltage on auto now. last board had to be max voltage just for 400mhz fsb.
my old speed of 475 x 8 is still good to go, i am simply testing for max OC on 9x multi.
this weekend i'll try for max OC on 8x.
the last two shots show the difference in 475x8 and 423x9
mem speed is slightly different but not enough to make 1m pi offset.
The Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI is probably better, has some unlockable bios options :P
Also a 650i board, and just about 10 dollars more.

Well, I updated the BIOS to 402 and it seems more stable. I don't have to push the voltage as high now and vdroop seems to be less (not sure how that's possible I need a DMM to confirm). My HR-05's will be here today. I'm going to spend some of today reading up on cpu lapping:toast: . I'm gonna lapp/pressure mount my infinity and lapp my cpu. Heck, I may lapp the NB and SB and the HR-05's! Maybe...I'll post some results when I'm finished.

let us know if your nb/sb have lower temp with HR-05 and if you can win some fsb in oc :D

Pantera, you can use OCCT with Speedfan and it will output a chart of your vcore over the course of your OCCT benchmark. The voltages might not be exact, but the vdroop usually is spot-on. It will suffice until you get a dmm.

Will do. This is going to take a while. The 401 bios seems more stable, but my pc restarted itself again, so I think the NB is still too hot. Even though I had the voltage setting for the NB at auto. I'll find out later today.Quote:

I already have one of those on the way to replace my dead p5b deluxe. The P5N-E will probably be relegated to duty at the office with some cheap ram and an E4300. The P5N-E is totally stable at 3.6ghz, but always fails prime and reboots within 20 seconds at 3.7 ghz. I've tried 1.425v to 1.6v with no luck.Quote:
