Yeah, they are. I just dont get what the hell it can be!! its obviously a bug with this specific ram. But this goes to show you ASUS's pathetic quality control. Since the ram works fine in P5B-D yet not a Commando? with same chipset! jeezQuote:

The Commando support CD isn't working at all for me. My CD drives will not read the disc whatsoever...(the same drives I used to install Windows and other software.)
Also the CD is labeled as COMMANDO MOTHERBOARD: NVidia nForce 680i SLI Support DVD!!
So, this means I do not have any of the software that came with the motherboard......some are on Asus website, but most of it isn't!!
Anyone willing to burn me a copy of the CD and send it to me...I can send a few dollars through Paypal.
Thanks

WTF!! I just noticed the same thing, the Support DVD says NVIDIA SLI on it!!
God damn monkeys work at Asus i tell ya!
Same issue here and I can not read it. That may because I am running Vista however.Quote:

On this Commando, CHANNEL A (dual channel memory config) will not boot with bios 801 beta. But if i use Channel B (dual channel memory config) it boots fine and its rock stable! BUT in channel B mode, i notice the ram voltage drop to 1.8v instead of the recommended SPD 1.9V!! i dont understand this issue
its clearly something to do with voltages .. they better fix this in next bios
hi
does any one know where i can get a listing of the bios codes for this MB. most of them are pretty straight forward i know but i keep gettin one sayin CPR FAIL (yip CPR not cpu).
it happens when i try to go for a 450 fsb anything under that and it posts fine cant post at 450 or anything over it.
suggestions gratefully recieved
cheers
CPR is probibally Taiwaneese English. There are lots of spelling and grammer errors on the Asus web site, on labels and in other areas. Lungists they are not but they are sure fine engineers.
Hi all, I received my Commando yesterday :).
Same here. Yesterday I was on Vista too - so I thought for one second (after reading Your post) that on XP (on which I'm at this moment) it will be fine - no luck, DVD still isn't working... :(Quote:

On 5-5-5-15-5-35-10-10-10-11 (pretty default settings) I reached ~490, 5-5-5-15-6-42-15-31-15-31 gave my this 505.
Maybe there is some sweet point in RAM subtimings or something else? Does anyone know how to improve this result?
Where are you folks buying your boards from???:eek:Quote:

Nothing you can't download newer versions of elsewhere... Oh there's a registered copy of 3DMark 06 if that flicks your switch.
ok this might fairly be the noobest thing but i got a problem with my hd.
bought a new seagate 80gb drive for boot en bench.
now after testing it a little i noticed huge speed drops in hd tune.
heres a pic

Im running the drivers in AHCI with the latest intel drivers.
any help would be more then welcome.
So I'am not the only one who did mention huge drops in hdtune (seagate 320GB 7200.10 Sata). I will test another harddrive ( IDE interface) to be sure it has to do with sata.Quote:

Only the drive with windows seems to be affected by this.
these drops seam to happen whenever a program needs to start or a service is being used.
also i noticed in nero info tool that only the bad performing drive has dma on.

yea the ICH8 seems really flaky on this board. I have unsual speed drop from those benchmark as well. However, this is my first 965 board so I'm not sure if all the 965 boards act the same way. I know the P5W wasnt like this at all.
well if anyone knows a fix it would be more then welcome
Anyone got decent 5-5-5 clocking on this board ? 3-3-3 and 4-4-4 is looking good, but 5-5-5 stability is very very poor (lower Mhz than 4-4-4).
