Just a typo, I am sure, he probably meant 390, no 39 ... come on, give the guy a break, I mean if you're trying to test this board and give us info from time to time, I bet you might make a typo once in awhile ... :rolleyes:

On my board and memory settings, 3T is slightly faster than 1T at 1M/4M, 3T is about 30 seconds slower than 1T at 32M. Tony is the memory guru on this board but so far I see 3T being a killer in just about everything. The problem with this board is that once you make a change, it actually does something. :D That is not really a problem as I love it but I promise you it will take a good four or five days of tweaking to figure out the optimum settings and it all changes as soon as you switch out memory or CPUs. It might not show in all of the benchmarks, but the feeling behind the keyboard is that once you hit on that perfect setting, the board is silly fast. ;) Back to RAID testing.....

I'd say this board is more for the hardware enthusiast than the serious gamer.
It's good if you want to spend hours tweaking everything to get a nice OC, but if you're a serious gamer who wants to play games, just get a D975XBX2 - very stable board and it's not like you'll ever be able to tell a FPS difference in your games.

was no typo, RGone is JSP testing (Joe sixpack) IE the user who just plugs in and plays. We have to make sure the board works from cmos clears etc.

hmm so 3t seems great but overall how much further were you able to oc the memory? jw than 1t or 2t.

especially with those stupid Intel clips for heatsink... I do not see the way to replace it with IceberQ for example.

Keep in mind the clips don't require quite as much space on the board as a large hole does. The engineers might have decided it's best to go this route so traces on the board don't get unnecessarily complicated. At least they have 4 on there so a waterblock can sit securely.

And I'm sure the HR-05 (among other sinks) will fit well enough, if the stock one doesn't suffice for you. ;)

it doesn't run hot at all compared to 680i... and probably a little less thatn 975x. Guess ati is making up for their heat in the gpu department heh. The Crossfire express 3200 used I believe around 15watts less at load. I'm not sure. than an nforce 4 ultra. The 680i is I think 20w+975X(relatively equivalent to the Nforce 4 Ultra).
