3870X2 results improved with GPU overclocked higher this time and new CPU... More tweaking to do later then LN2 on CPU.
Wow, nice scores you guys rock :)
Any ideas why Wprime and Aquamark would not start on my rig?
Wprime crash on startup with error (without starting any calculation) and Aquamark just would not start (tried admin mode, no joy).
Got 3d 2003 & 2005 now so will be running shortly :)
Wprime run as administrator on Vista/win7 (should work unless very unstable) Aquamark3 needs a 64 bit patch
Guys, sorry for double post - forgot to ask about it earlier.
Any ideas how what vcore for i7 980X would cause it to degrade - when applied in couple hours benching sessions (mostly Futuremarks)?
Example:
Vcore: 1.56v (as reported in CPU-Z under load, done through offset so dropping to ~1.27 under light load)
QPI: 1.35
DRAM: 1.64(or 1.66)
PLL: 1.90
With LLC on at 1000mv, on water temps well under the safe margin.
Any thoughts? I realise that every cpu is different etc. but I reckon who else can have some first hand experience :)
I know I and others who have had 45nm i7s like the 920s who ran them on phase or cascade at 5ghz high voltages through futuremark benches for over a year all the time. Sometimes after a while the chip will wear down and you'll have to lower the clocks a little bit(maybe 50-100mhz) with the same voltages to get stable again. I don't think its bad though.
If you beat it hard it for 5 years though it would probably degrade a lot. But considering, most people upgrade before then and that will not be there top end benching system anymore. :ROTF:
More cards incoming....
7950GT and 3870 on the way!
Sounds great! Will you go for some triple CFX numbers as well?
@luke997: Please fix some of your screenshot, they were resized and you can't see anything at all on them. You risk your scores getting blocked.
By the way, what happened? Looks like we lost 60 points again? Did someone leave?
Oh, and very nice scores MSIMAX!
I know that problem, sometimes changes will not stick, it's hwbot's problem, not a problem of cached info imho.
So your only chance is to run even faster und submit a new score! :D
( One more thing to note, don't update scores when you hit a higher score, just submit a new entry, hwbot doesn't like updating scores. ;) )
:up::up::up:
Please welcome our new member NAMEGT! :welcome:
Thanks ~:)
The lack of my ability, but I'll try for the team.
namegt:)
It is with great pleasure that I say welcome to the XS Team:up:
Looking forward to your future work and results. We are Xtremely
happy to have you aboard. Good luck with your future benching:welcome:
Best regards,
Randi:D
Im trapped in Linuxfans garage breathing nitrogen fumes.....
Working on top 5, GTX470 benches. Currently have a world record 6th place, but where shooting for a 5th or higher. :smokin
We are having a little trouble with cold bugging, which shouldn't be happening so we are tweaking RAM timings and such at the moment.
Hardware:
980x @ 5.6-5.8ghz
Rampage 3 Extreme
GTX470
6GB mushkin redline
55 liters of liquid Nitrogen.
We had been using both a CPU and GPU pot, but the GPU was being a pain, so we threw it back on air.
Xtremesystems best single card result here I come!!

Nice,good luck!
Anyone know where I can find a core 2 duo OC database I want to go shopping around for a E8600.
Q822A is the golden batch i believe. if thats what you mean.
Really!?!? If so I have an opportunity to get that exact batch.
Q822A566
Q822A435 was like the known best, you can google it. not to sure about the 566, and YMMV obviously. :) google for a bit i would say.
Yes, Q822A435 and Q820A598 are the great batches, in general the early batches ( Q820 and Q822 ) are better than more recent ones.
Stole the stock cooler from my 7950GT and tweaked and benched an Evga 7800GT and 7800GTX today.
Every little bit helps!
Have a good July 4th weekend guys!

Tested 3870, 3870X2, and 3870+3870X2 Tri-Fire today.
Didn't get to 01 with each card or AM3 with 3870 so will have to do that another day.
Also planning on testing 2x7800GTXs soon if I didn't kill the 2nd card. :ROTF:
There are now 463.1 points between us and the Russian Overs Team!:up::up:
Awesome, less than 500 points to go!
Did you guys notice you can submit your best RAM clocks now? That's great! :D
I think Frederik can read my mind.... a scaring thought.
Anyway, when was this added? Today? Or am I getting old?
Edit: Secured DDR2 WR for us and 2nd global with a lousy 702MHz submission. So I'll have to go after high MHz on my memory after all....
Should be getting my Xeons for my SR2 either tomorrow or Thursday then no sleep for 24 hours :D
The Ram Clocks section looks a bit premature, no specified DDR, DDR2, and DDR3 yet. Looks like people are just posting whatever with SS that don't show anything.
That will be great! Good luck, do you still have those GTX 295s?
Yes, it's a bit premature indeed. MaxxMem still doesn't have the choice for DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 as well, but RB is informed about this, but since both benchmarks are not awarded points it's low on the priority list I guess.
Up to now only three results have been posted! :p:
That's the normal pic for any CPU-Z validation, you'll have to click on the actual link to see the RAM clock. But I agree, maybe they could find a more practical solution.
Yeah already hitting 80C with an ambient of 22C. I'm kind of wondering if vantage will fully use 12 physical cores?
What exactly is PPU since it doesn't change the test to performance setting. Since I have two 295 dual PCB thinking about finding the better slave PCB to attach to the better Master.
GPU 1 710/1550/1250
GPU 2 720/1552/1240
Test Bench is all setup hope I have some fun :)

What are some other good gpus to bench for lots of hw points? I'm thinking 8800 series looks like a bunch of winners.
These cards are your best bet for points, you can get a bunch with each even on air! :D
8800GTX, 8800GTS 512, 8800GTS 320MB, 8800GTS 640MB, 8800GT.
A bunch of the other older cards are worth a bit... 4850, 4870 ect so you can just look on the bot and see how popular each card is.....
Anyone seen the HWbot Memory Clock contest?
I made an entry for FBDimm that should win a few points, considering it beats my last record (and to my knowledge, LGA771 FSB WR anyway) by almost 30Mhz :D
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1295110
Nice score!
Skinnee posted a good score today as well, he is waving XS' flag in the Lords of Overclocking challenge @ FM! :yepp:
I'm sorry to hear this mate! :(
But you found a nice CPU, do you plan on testing some 2D with it?
On a sidenote, somehow this score did not pop up yet on the Lords of Overclocking site...
Your new run says "not FM approved" as well, but damn, almost 42k is nice!
thx, that was the best run using the old drivers.
...so got bored with ambient temps, and currently disassembling a 1/3hp AC. The chiller build ensues :D Should work very nicely on the SR2 hoping for somewhere around -10C atleast.
EDIT: Temps are -15C open air, hoping for a good drop once submerged.
zeneffect is hitting some good numbers with his i5 655k on DICE:
http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/4...esjuly25th.jpg
Good DICE runs today ZenEffect!
My R3E's tripple channel stopped working so it might be a little while till I'm back up and running again. Got a bunch of GPUs to test on LN2.
As a side note, I'm going to sell my GTX 480 and need to get a 1200w PSU so if anybody wants the GPU LMK.... The GPU will be up in the FS section this week.
This 480 does 900/1167 on stock cooling 1.30v in 85oF ambient and 1075/1200+ on LN2 at -90oC without OVP or OCP mods.
Gunna try and get some good numbers on my XFX 5770 over today and tomorrow. Guys got some tips/tricks? I've found the Vmod I need also if I can get a DICE container for it!
anyone on the team got a pot with 8600gt & 5770 mounting bracket? I would like to borrow it for a DICE run. I will be paying shipping and a security deposit; just want to borrow instead of dropping $140.00.
edit: also in regards to overclocking my 5770. Linux and I have been PM'ing each other about tips and tricks overclocking it. I can't seem to find a version of msi afterburner that will allow me to get past 1.35 volts though - asked around in the guru3d afterburner home forums too. No luck!
Update: Working on 1000/1200 as we speak. So far I am at 990/1200 @ 1.27v~1.28v, I really started seeing voltage tweaks around a 970 core. I hope I can get a little further on less voltage for the rest of the night!
-End of the night: I couldn't get a stable 1000/1200 even @ 1.30v~1.31v. Its bed time :)
7/29/2010
I got 1010 @ 1.35v~1.36v. Either something is bugging my chip or I just got unlucky with my card. People say they are seeing temperatures of up to 77* at 1.275v. I only saw a maximum temperature of 60* at 1010/1200 1.35v. Seems a little wacko to me!
Someone with ~80 points left us today, we're down to 14520 now and HWLuxx is just 50 points away... :(
Edit: Zucker2k went to OC Forums after getting banned here a while ago. I already told Gatman to stop banning members of the team but he just won't listen... :shakes:
Any ideas what are the best settings to get high AM3 score?
I got 230K with cpu @4.85 and GPU @~900 yet I see others do high >350K with just a little bit higher cpu (like 5ghz) and lower gpu clock?
Is it Win7 or does it work better with higher bus rather then multiplier?
hey all, i have been looking for a team to join, I keep coming back to here...
I feel that i will grow much more working with a team, and there is so much for me to learn. so so much.
i do most of my benching in the winter but i want to start preparing and learning, from the drama over the last few weeks, i realize i know squatz. But i want to learn.....
I have been toying with this idea for the last month and i won't make a move if i don't put it in writing, so here it is....
I would like to join XS hwbot team... where do i sign up....
as it was written so it was done....
so now i am a member of your team, i am very excited to learn and grow, plus help the team......
hello to all! :surf:
Welcome partner in crime :D
I'm in CT.... right next door to you in RI
Hey SystemViper, welcome! Glad to see you were persuaded to join the team!
Anyone?
For example this Linuxfan's score:
http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...0_377154_marks
0.5ghz higher cpu OC and 147K more points
AM3 automatically defaults to 1 core you need to enable all threads in task manager.
2 points for the team and also the worlds slowest SP1m time!
http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...489ms?new=true
Yea i was, i realized that i needed to take the next step in learning
and get with a group that i can help but also learn a lot from
and from what i saw this is one hell of a team... i am very excited,,,
on another note i am looking for a set of ram to run with my w3570 and
R3E, anyone have any idea's what woudl be a good set but reasonable priced...
up to 6 points..wprime 32 and1024..
4.991s in 32..
Well I can loan you a set of dom gt 2ghz c7 next time I'm down there as long as you have a set to trade :)
Have my w3520 setup for Monday.
http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4159/x58os.jpg
Hey guys the August competition is here. Massman and I have been discussing the 1090T vs. 955BE. I think I got the upper hand on my base clock with my 955BE over others 1090T's, but my 5770 will not outperform the GTX275 on the 3D01 run. Anyone got one I can buy for $100.00 or rent for a security deposit fee?
Waiting on an Antec 1200w PSU to come in then I'll be testing again. Got a 7600GT ready to rock, I'm really anxious to see how it will do. :D
Tested my w3520 fail :( -60 CBB, couldn't validate past 5103 and now for some reason turbo mode isn't working anymore.
Too bad that Turbo isn't working. Tried reseating and even changing mobos?
The chip didn't CB on DICE did it?
no it didn't coldest I had it was -65 and would CBB -50 to -60 tried reseating a couple times. Wasn't even that good of a chip, maybe ill rma for the turbo issue, i won't change settings at all sometimes it works other times it doesn't IDK.
Its here and even matches my RIIIE and Mushkin Redlines. :D
Time to bench.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_V9O2bxqK28M/TF...0/IMG_1912.JPG
i want that aswell, for sure!
OC edition or normal one?
I don't know if I'm ready for this!
