where you @ with your quad
i wouldnt get an e8600 unless i be runnin 4.5+;)
Okay, thanks for the info. My intent if I was to get an 8600 was to go for 5.0GHz and enjoy life from there. Nothing more, nothing less. If I could get those numbers with this board and that processor, I'm sold. I can use that x3360 in my other server.
Okay, I may have been dreaming a little, LOL!!! Is 4.5-4.7 even feasible?
Okay, I'm going to order it now.
I've been playing around with this board for about 2 years now and I just can't seem to get the quad cores to clock as high as I know they can. The more I read about the P35 chipset, it seems to be more taylored to dual cores. I'll see what I can get out of the 8600.
Hey guys...
I have had quite a few memory errors creeping in recently and cannot seem to iron them out.
I have tried several different sets of ram and all produce errors in memtest even with pretty relaxed timings and Vram boosted a notch or two so I was wondering if it might be Vnb?
What voltages are you running through your NB for 24/7?
I'm running a 400 FSB atm...
Edit:
It could well be the NB temp actually, it is regularly hitting 55 Celcius...
I have dropped the Vnb back down to 1.41 to see if that helps...
Previous page i have my results with the DFI LP DK P45 T2RS+ and a
Q822A435. 8hour orthos stable @ 1.360Vcore load, for 4500mhz i needed 1.280Vcore load.
1M so far max @ 4975 Mhz :) @ AIR
Getting a pot next week, starting out with some dice. cant wait to see how it goes!
WOW!!! That's awesome info! Man thijs, that's good stuff! How much memory are you running and what's your NB voltage sitting at?
i haven't used my motherboard 3-pin fan headers for the NB (the 2 ones near the NB) before and tried them last night..fan wont run. all the other 3-pin headers work though except for the 2 near the NB/CPU socket..could it be defective or do i need to change something in the bios?
hey kit does that apply to the cpu fan header?ive always ran all my fans directly from the psu but the cpu fan(hooked to board)
cool i'll try that.thanks for the quick response
always good to not use fan headers
especially with gigabut boards;)
thanks zsamz.does hooking the single yellow monitoring plug to the cpu fan header affect it.
if i hook my fan directly to the psu and plug the yellow to the board to monitor the fan,is that the same as plugging the fan into the board?
it depends how stable the board is
on dfi i get no problems but i still prefer direct psu
on gigabut i know it gets unstable on high overclocks
the most i would use on a board is just cpu header
i'm runnin my x38 the board is crazy strong n i dont even use no header
next week i be on dk p45+:D
@kitfit1
thanks..seems only one was defective. i tried aa dominator airflow on the other one and it work..but a 4-pin pwm doesnt (fan aint defective though). when i'm benching i dont use the extra headers..but for 24/7 i prefer to use it..less cable management worries in my old p180 :D
well i use 2 of the fan headers on my x38 , with my clock @ fsb500x9 5:6 without issues. been running those clocks since i got the mobo to.
im using the one next to the nb for a fan on my pwm & one of the lower headers for my side panel fan. the side panel one shows up as system in smartg.
means i can get control over both of them using smartg.
Why is it that I need 1.6V on the vNB to even get my system remotely close to being stable at 470FSB, with my x3360? Is it because I'm running 4GB of memory or the fact that it's a quad core processor?
hello. recently i bought a new kit of memories kingston ddr2 1150 2.35V.
my configuration i formed by a E8400(4ghz 1.31V), dfi p35 t2rs, and this pair of ram. i want to push to the limit, 1150mhz, as kingstone say.
a pay a lot for this kit and i want to run at 1150 cl5.
help me. i tried all the possibilities, i set extreme voltages, i tried all 1:2, 5:6 etc. i can't pass over 1066 stable, and if i couldn't probably i will sell the motherboard or the ram kit.
on this motherboard i run without no problem, E8400 at 4ghz with 1.31V stable orthos. but i want more, even for a bench sesion....
sorry for my english and if you can help me: do it.
I have some problems with this motherboard. I can't reach FSB more than 440Mhz. I overclocked my CPU(E8200) to 4GHz on MSI Neo2-FR, on DFi max OC is 3520Mhz :(
I've change PSU, tryied on various memory modules(Corsair Dominator, OCZ FlexII, OCZ Reaper, GoodRAM PRO) in sinfgle and dual channel, effect is the same :(
The problem is also with memory. At the moment I have OCZ Reaper 1200Mhz and it doesn't boot even at 1000Mhz even if I set high voltage.
The problem is always the same: "C1" after power on and no boot.
