The reason for a GUI interface is to simplify things, BIOS interface is already easy to use, so UEFI is kind off a marketing thing and currently doesn't add much IMHO.
I think UEFI is BIOS interface for tards in which the overclocking tab should be renamed to Herp Derp Settings.
Seiously if you cant figure out and navigate a BIOS as they are now, you shouldn't be in the BIOS to start with.

I am not against a GUI in BIOS but the problem with UEFI is that it is not unified.
Asus has an interface, MSI has another and so on, meaning that you'll need a knowledge with all the different GUIs to navigate in them.
Also I was taught from the first day of my college years of computer science and software engineering the following very valid rule :
"Do you want to create a solution for a problem or a problem that awaits a solution?"
UEFI in its current state is the later of the rule above !
Any other X58 that has UEFI ? What's the advantage in fact ? Making screenshots of the bios ? Lol, there wasn't even talk about PC UEFI when the RE3 was released...Quote:

This wasn't open for comment, especially by those who haven't even read the specs or knows the history. This was for the ASUS monitors to send it up the food chain at the corp. office.

I used the ROG Connect port one time, but thought that I would ask before updating my BIOS this time.
First time Asus release UEFI was for P5Q Deluxe (p45) and it was terrible after i tested i switched very very fast back to the Ket's modded bios :)
In matter of fact i was never be able to update bios of my R3E with flashdrive connected to ROG usb and pressing and hold xx second rog connect button :( dunno why. Will try tonight with my R3BE. Bad thing (or maybe not ;) ) is that there is only 1 available bios was not able ti find any beta.Quote:

Hi guys, I've been out of the overclocking world for a while. Too many things to do, but now, I decided to get back and want to modify my system.
I currently have two HD 5850 in crossfire x16/x16 on my RIIIE,
Will I notice a big difference with another HD 5870 or 5850 in triFire in x8/x8/x8 ???
I'm trading up again! My old 970 that does 4.5GHz 6c/6t + $150 for a 980x. It was run on air its whole life at 4.1ghz with 1.312v. Hopefully it's not a lemon and will do better under my watercooler.

hey guys! ... i'd like to know, what do " cpu pll " do on gulftown and how does it have to be set, couse on my 980 either i'm at 4ghz or 4.8ghz and i leave 1.81 it doesn't have anyeffects ..... thanks for answering my question!
There's no has to be set value, it's a trial and error thing to find the PLL voltage that allows for a little extra stability at given speeds. The ideal vPLL at 4GHz will likely be different to the ideal vPLL at 4.8GHz.

What Cryptik is trying to say is "each chip is different" and it will require you to "experiment a little" and see what works for you. There is no one setting works for all.
This is true, my i7 930 at 4.3 Ghz needs 1.55v PLL and at 4Ghz , it needs 1.8v PLL, its trial and error, a lot of pleasure :DQuote:
