Great Job Very Happy to see you get a good Oc with that board:up:

I was playing GTA 4 @ 4ghz with my E0 E8400 @ 1.20v and it would crash from time to time... then i decided what the hell... 1.38v in bios (1.36 idle and 1.37 load measured with DMM @ Striker II Extreme) and now playing @ 4.5ghz doesn't give me any problems at all... not that I'm complaining :D
I didn't try Orthos but everything seems to be working perfectly :up:
Here is a Pic i just took, i have a P5Q Deluxe and PI Black G.SKILL 6400 CL4 heres a link ->

Mems are @ 5-5-5-15 as you can see not 4-4-4-12 originally.. wanted really to boost this since i got a great cooler :)
Your memory may not do CL4 since you have overclocked it to 860MHz, but you can give it a try. ;)
what i wanted to do is OC this to at least 4.2, what can i do here? need some help on this.
For 4.2GHz you need to increase the FSB to 467MHz, but I'd go a little at a time. Try 445fsb for 4GHz first and they see what voltages are needed.
i tried 445 = 4.0 with 1.3vcore and tried orthos but computer froze after 2 min now i tried bumping the vcore to 1.32v and it only ran orthos 4min then gave error, ive been doing the Blend - stress cpu and ram test...
my first overclocking :)
i oc some old p4 but without vcore option in bios :-/

Vcore - 1.328V
Bus - 450, 1:1
Memory - 900MHZ CL 5-5-5-15 2.1V
Stable 24/7
how it looks?
what is the Vcore/Vtt for that :) ?
Vcore 1.328V
and i dont touch the Vtt, you told me do not touch it! (in some thread i open, not you.. somebody but not you :D )
that's why i cant move up than 470mhz Bus??
even in ratio 7.. and high Vcore..
lol finally did i told about the Vtt :p ?
ok seriously 1.32 is good for the C0 stepping eny chances to know what is your batch ?
Vtt is auto @ bios ? if yes try the lowest setting that you are stable :)
my English aren't so bad but i didn't understand anything :p:
FPO/batch is on the box of the cpu or if you don't have it it's on the cpu
as for the Vtt i didn't understand what you want to say i'am sorry
Hello guys. Going to swap my old E3110 with C0 stepping on E8400 E0. But which FPO (BATCH) is known to be the best?
Thanks in advance, guys!

Whats wrong here? i dont know what to do i put vcore @ 1.32 and its not even stable at 3.9mhz my memory isnt even CL 5-5-5-15 its CL 4-4-4-12.....
Godmyster, Im also struggling trying to get Orthos Blend stable on my E8600. I dont know how old your memory is, but if its going bad, relaxing the timings wont help...run memtest, test 5 to make sure the ram isnt faulty. Anotrher big setting for Orthos Blend stability is MCH Vcore, try raising that and see what happens.
Witch memtest are you talking about? the one you have to boot with a cd? and MCH Vcore what is that?
Thanks for the response
PS: these are my memories - PI Black G.SKILL DDR2 PC2 6400 CL4 4GB Kit link -> http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/view...esc=asc&no=126
the one where you boot of CD. Some people use the memtest windows version, and say it is better at picking up memory errors. MCH voltage is also known as the NorthBridge (NB) voltage, and definitely needs increasing when you raise your FSB to certain levels...check in your BIOS and see if you see that option, and raise the voltage.
My NB voltage is @ default how much should i raise anyway?
I couldnt tell you, every mobo is different(what is ur mobo?)...just start raising it, I would go a few notches at first, as ur pretty unstable at the moment
i got a P5Q Deluxe but i dont even know what the default is since its on auto, any good program to read voltage in windows?
