Help appreciated:
I'm firing up my d975xbx for the first time, I believe I have successfully completed the OC debug mod. In the bios, I have an option for "Default Configuration Override", but when I select that menu, all I get is a warning that 'altering the clock frequency blah blah not supported blah blah' and no OC options.
Does this mean I didn't get the OC debug done right? I dont seem to see any other options in the bios to change FSB, vMCH etc...

On that warning page there should be an option to proceed (or somehting like that) change that to yes and hit enter..... if there are still no options, try clearing cmos and load default settings (that worked for me when I did it).
IIRC some people needed to reflash the bios to get the options, but if all that doesn't work ya may need to redo the debug mod.
you probably have done the mod, but you didn't update to the latest bios :DQuote:

Ok, turned out the OC debug really needs a lot of conductive ink to do the trick. I laid down a thicker bead and now the BIOS looks the way it always should have :)
Next question...I was stepping the FSB override up in increments of 5% trying to find the max. I found it at 50%, now the board wont boot. I've tried booting with the jumper on the other two pins, and even with the jumper off. What is the best way to recover from a too aggressive OC? Pull the battery? Any easier way?

Update: Needed to unplug power, move jumper to 2-3, boot...get you back in at defaults. I'm learning here....

Just me tho. Also depends if I had done any other extreme mods. I was running huge Vmch or any other hard mods I wouldnt.

Hallo. I have a big trouble with this mobo :mad: .After OC debug, it works a few days with diferent problems, like no boot or reset, but in various test (3 dmark06 or dual super pi 32M) it was very stable.Today, in during i was staying on the net ,it happend the unbeliveble, the mobo won't boot anymore with the intial setings, but default it works.I try a many combinations, low frequency to the CPU with high to the RAM and vice versa .I set the 1333, but the mobo see same frequency and not response. That was a very embarrassed for me :slapass: .Until today I use this setings: FSB 1066, 40%= 3365MHZ (1,43v), something like this, raport with RAM 1:1, my extreem team (800-cl4-4-4)533@746(2,2v).I have a PSU sirtec 620W, 2x Raptor, raid0 and VGA, X1900XTX.How is it possible?Who is it responsible for this? I had that error when my cooling was mounted incorrectly. At first I was running stock cooling and the XBX almost made it impossible to get the thing on properly for some reason.
Also I had a realy concave IHS so you might look into that as well.

which bios are you running?
I had that prob. Go to options tab in Desk Utility and adjust the value save and exit. As to why it say it's to low? My "guess" is DU's defaults are set incroectly for C2DQuote:

Complete Image 3. Vcore "Modification" - unlocked BIOS for ALL chips before making this modification. That step allows selection of 1.6v by BIOS (~1.565v real) for the CPU. This is more than enought to carry most users to maximum clock with their Conroe CPU. If you have more exotic cooling (read: LN2) then complete this modification and the one below, if desired, to allow for manual temperature offset.
Mod: Connect a 50K ohm potentiometer (set at maximum resistance) rrom Pin #4 (red points) of ADP3189 to GND. Lower resistance to increase Vcore. This allows for ~0.2v increase over BIOS values (~1.75v real) at 6K ohm. Lower settings cause a shutdown on voltage protection (a modification is being worked to get around this). The green dot shows the measure point (to ground) for Vcore.
Note: This mod can be done on the newer rev. 304 board also!

I have 2 questions , do i need to connect pin #4 of ADP3189 to GND or any of red dots shown on the picture ? And wheres the closet ground in that area (all that area is covered with liquid tape and insulation on my mobo - can't check it by myself :( )

1.Right now you simply can't use Everest, Speedfan, or CPU-Z less than version 1.36........ they will all cause the Vcore to reset to default... sometimes soo bad you need to clear cmos to get it straight again.Quote:

And try using Desktop Utilities Version 3.0.6.10... it has "official support" for 975X where as the 2.1.9.66 version you are currently using does not.

Anyone know which temp zone refers to the MCH in the desktop utils?
Just fitted a waterblock on my MCH and wouldn't mind knowing the temp
