HokaHey

I had to get down with my OC again this time form 600 to 540MHz above that i have artifacts - this cards seems to be "dying" and no matter if you give 1.1-1.3 V on core :slapass: I understand that this is stock cooling and it isn't so good but for god's sake ONLY 40 MHz ??? :slapass: :slapass: As for now my X1800XL SUCKS :mad:

P.S. I should try tomorrow a better thermal paste on the core maybe this will help...

I will have to watch mine. That is a bummer. As of now, nothing really has changed for mine. Are people changing out the stock cooler. That is something I have not touched - could that by any chance be causing some problems?

i just picked up my X1800 XL today and to find out that the dvi isn't working... :( it works when i have the dvi to vga and/or when windows is fully loaded... that seems wierd, whats the point of having a lcd that uses vga... have anyone have this problem?

Anyone know what the I/O voltage does? ive seen it raised the same as the memory voltage, is there a reason for this? what does it do?

mine is still going as in sig. I think alot of people have fluctuations either in case temps are room temps which in turn effect case and GPU temps. Either that, or most people got crap/broken cores. Or even they damaged their cores/mem by being to quick to OC high or increase V too much.

couldbe. I remember the guy with the woman in his avatar and a few others that are having problems changed their stock cooler.

Well, i've changed my cooler to the Zalman Fatal1ty and have had no problem.
I know deathman20 is also using Zalman Fatal1ty with no problems.
Maybe the HSF isn't making proper contact with the GPU.

I think cantankerous is running stock cooling.

Could the ppl who are having this problem plz say what cooling they running?

ATI Catalyst 5.11 says that I have 64-65*C in Windows ( using internet) at default speeds and voltages - isn't it to high ?

Well, not really, depending on if u have your fan on auto. If u overide your fan speed and set it to 100% it should be much cooler.

is that on stock cooling? otherwise that is way too hot. You need to get some as5 or ceramique stat. or do the above set that crap to 100% and crack the windows.

Fatal1ty has a faster fan and better looks.
The standard fan rpm is 2000, Fatality is @ 3000.

fatal1ty fan on full speed have like 3000rpm i think, color of copper is bloody ruby and it have some led(s) i think and cost twice of more then old zalman (at least in my country)

Yup definatly not running into problems with my cooler it works 100% from cold boot.

What probley happenend is they mounted the heatsink wrong and chipped or scratched the core, or possibley just got a really crap chip and it wasn't showing yet. Thats the only thing I can think of if the clocks went crap after switching heatsinks.
