Cool, thanks for that. I ordered a set from a vendor who claims to still have a couple. We'll see. Too bad I won't get to play around with them as I just got called overseas for some work so it won't be until the 22nd that I'll be able to pop them in. Hopefully the Sapphire PURE mobo will be out in the US by then and I can go buck wild. Probably really should try the 120mm Cu Zalman for the CPU as well, as under 30 mins of prime I'm already at a toasty 74C (although the chipset is quite cool at 33C - ULi has a real nice product too bad none of the mobo makers are sacking up and giving it the full enthusiast treatment it deserves).

Wanna see how true it is that these Optys have better mem controllers than the X2s.

who has them? atacom looks to have them but would rather order from somehwere else.

I bought stuff from atacom and those guys are good. They ship really fast and with good prices.

Budwise

it seems that my sticks max out 3D Stability at around 268ish... I was optimistic for more, but oh well 260 is all i really need...

no, im happy! Especially considering my first kit wouldnt do 251 lol... This is what i expected from the first kit, so now im very happy considering OCZ worked with me and got me a great kit to make sure i was satisfied with my purchase. I definately appreciated the support here and from Jimmy at OCZ.

I had the same problem Pyro. It was solved raising PCIe from 100 to 105. Pls try it!

Turned out it wasn't really in stock :( I'm only back in the states on the 22nd and 23rd and would really like to get a kit before I ship off overseas. It's looking less and less likely.

Thanks for the reply MonkSP ;)

i just tried setting the pci-e bus to 105MHz
i set 265MHz, and dropped the cpu multi to 10.
i also upped the chipset and ldt voltage by a notch (1.6v and 1.3v)
but the monitor still clicks on and off :( sometimes for a second, sometimes for 10 seconds
if i leave it, then it will pass a dual 32m super pi run, but the monitor clicks on and off constantly
i don't think it's as bad as it was, but it does still do it a lot

has anybody got anything else i could try please, i'd really appreciate it
this problem is really bugging me :confused:

Thats weird, ive never seem that symptom before.. Whats your voltages with a multi meter at full load on the 12V and 5V lines during this? I noticed you have a beefy power supply, but it never hurts to check.

I just want to know the important stuff. Will these run at 1T on a 3800 X2 revision DH-E4 (according to CPID)/BH-E4 (according to CPU-Z).
This the only factor determining me purchasing this Ram. I feel it equally important or even more so than the timings.

If I feel confident enough in these sticks hitting 260 and running 1T I will be getting some by xmas. Given the help OCZ gives here is making my decision more easy to make. Anyone else with a 3800x2 could you please post your revision and overclocks with this ram. It is greatly appreciated as I'm a bus-boy and $320 is a lot of money to me.

right, since i don't have a multimeter here yet, i stripped my pc down to the bare minimum to reduce any power usage
i've tried a hiper type-r 480w, and a tagan 580w, both with the same results
anything above 260MHz, and the monitor hoes haywire
i'm wondering if it could be my cpu or board <shrug>

if it was the memory, or the memory controller on the cpu, then wouldn't i be getting computational errors? <shrug>

has anyone got any other ideas that don't involve a multimeter?
(hopefully i can get one sometime this week)

my X2 is an E6 3800 X2. Info is CCBWE 0529 SPMW, i run my sticks 24/7 at 3-3-2-7 1T 2.7v with no problems.

i can run mine at 260, but anything above that and the monitor goes mad

i have taken them up to 268 and they were still completely stable. Once i started to approach 270, they were no longer 3D stable. Im sure with some more tweaking i could reach 270 though. My everyday overclock is 260X10 though, so i keep them at 260.

Its possible your sticks just won't run faster then 260....not all kits are going to run 270.
These are just like any memory out there....results are going to vary.

Do you have other 2GB kits that clock higher than 260? Does this behaviour only happen with this kit?

hehe, i wish i had more kits to try :)

i know it's not video intensive, but i figured that if the sticks pass memtest at 270, and the comp will pass dual super pi at 265 (i haven't tested any higher) even with the monitor clicking on and off, then the sticks should be ok :shrug:

i'm wondering if it's because of my board or cpu now :confused::brick:

when i bought this ram i really wanted it to be stable at 270x10, but i'd settle for 265 :(
