They pay for the boards after they come out, however these have not if anyone is to blame it is the vendors for jumping the gun. I was designing test PCB sets for my work about 3 weeks with constant pressures to get it done and make sure it works just right on the first try, and that was already very taxing on me, I can't imagine what it is like to do so day in and day out (I get to do other fun stuff like write software and testing most of the time).
However if what Tony said about this board being similar to the CF-DR board, somewhere in that thread, and also that there isn't a fundamental difference in the way SLI and Crossfire work except for the chipset used, there's a lot of cutting and pasting that can go on =P.
The one thing that really bothers me about the whole cutting edge computer biz is the "launch" of a product, and I am referring to this one specifically which launched in september, before it is finalized. Then again, I say oh yeah it will be done in 2 days, but then more design changes come up which delays things. Anyways, it is part of the job!
With all that being said, Give me my sli-dr expert!

(So, move along folks, nothing to see here  )

heat is a byproduct of the increased voltage. If you can keep the heat under control, you can provide the processor with more voltage. My load temps stay below 40C with 1.75v and the system runs Prime stable.Quote:

So what's the latest on this motherboard?
:dammit: still no word
Was there a major problem with the board found before release?

Uhhh... pre order from where? certainly not ncix
I don't see any distributers listing this board yet.
Pluscorp is in Australia I believe.
Confirmed as of today:
"I don’t have a release schedule because our engineers are doing some rework on the board."
Just be patient for the master piece; Oskar has been working too hard as he was going to hospital due to his blood pressure problem.:)
For those who concern about current NF4 series bios, Oskar also told me he will working on that. I will check with him today later.
Hmm hope the board wont have any problems at release. If so will have to purchase the SLI-Dr
WHy doesn't ANYONE have any information on this supposed "rework" that they had to do??? Is it the nVidia bug which causes hard drive corruption? Did they decide to go BACK to their original plan and include the Promise controller and dump the Silicon Image controller??
WE NEED ANSWERS! :fact:
I'm sure you'll get the answers when the board is released!
im hoping it was to switch to the promise controller, personnaly i want crossfire more then sli, but promise chip will move me definetly to the NF4...
on the other hand, i find it very likely that the bios needs more tweaking and oskar being sick is a big part of the delay...
wonder how much longer he will stay at DFI if they keep pressuring him like that. He might go over to Asus where things are "simpler." :) Asus quality plus Oskar design and bios.
